Just goes to show that while the tourney is entertaining, it's a lousy way to crown a champ. I think the NBA's boring but they do the postseason right.

Dekker was a role player that played lights out the last 2 games in the tourney. This is Kaminsky's team. Dekker can shoot but what position would he play in the NBA? He is too small to play PF and not quick enough or skilled enough to guard SFs. He's a great collegiate player though.

Lol, he's not a role player.

Frank is the better college player. But Dekker will be a good SF and drafted higher. Frank isn't athletic/strong enough for NBA. He'll be a nice stretch big. Dekker has a lot of upside at SF. Can shoot the ball well and he is athletic.

How on earth does this show that? The second or third best team beat the best team in the tournament so the tournament is bad?

I thought Wisconsin was better all year. Kentucky gets to win the title without ever playing any of the top 10 teams?

Honestly this whole "one and done" super team philosophy of his is just something that he started doing when he got to UK. And who could blame him when it won him his only championship.

Fluke those player stayed because of the lockout.

It is a lousy way to crown a champion.

The tournament is fun to watch because of upsets and unpredictability that stems from the format.

But in terms of crowning "the best team of the year", it's probably the worst format of the major American sports. One game in basketball is very fluid and on any given night a better team can lose to a lesser one. In football, one game makes sense and there's a lot less volatility between games, so it's harder for a lesser team to beat a much better one. NBA playoffs and MLB, NHL do series which really reduces the volatility of one game.

So very entertaining, but awful way to determine the best team.

You could be right but I have watched an awful lot of Wiscy bball this year and this is by far the best Dekker has looked. Kaminsky draws a lot of attention and double teams which opens things up for others. Dekker can shoot but is not great at creating his own shots.

If only they'd cut out some of the regular season garbage before conference play starts and then each round in the tourney could be best of 3 with the higher seed hosting.

I didn't follow that conversation correctly. Thought he was talking about this year.

I'm an LSU fan too.

I didn't put that in the OP because I'm not retarded enough to think that needs to be mentioned in a thread discussing Coach Calipari's coaching ability.
