This is dumb. The elements shouldn't be a determining factor is high stakes competition. Also, I don't go to ballgames to prove I'm tough enough to sit in the wet or cold or snow or lightening.

This would be horrible. NFL players would interfere all the time on long passes if they think they are gonna get beat.

The whole receiver has to come down with the catch rule bullshite. If a qb can reach over the goal line and all a runner has to do is hit the pylon, then a receiver who has possession and two feet in, is a frickin to. He doesn't have to roll ten yards out of bounds and not fumble is the stupidest rule ever.

More contact practices. Okay to lead with helmet as long as it's not helmet to helmet, they know the dangers.

Quarterbacks (or those taking the snap) only allowed to rush for 1 yard gains. Remove all protections on how quarterbacks can get tackled. Intentional grounding applies when in the pocket or out.

A catch is a catch the same as it was prior to the Calvin Johnson debacle. That one call ruined the NFL. Now no one knows what a catch is. If you catch the ball, have two feet down, and have control as long as the feet are down, it's a catch.

Do away with divisions in the NFL.

12 best records make the playoffs.

how is this downvoted so much?

this divisional bullshite is getting old. having almost half of your games against the same 3 teams is boring.

I agree. Have them play 1 out of conference game and the rest in conference. 16 games and the best 16 get in the playoffs.

i agree with that. would be cool seeing 16 different teams in a year. i think it would also put the best teams on each side in the playoffs. teams getting a home playoff game at 8-8 is a load of crap

I'd say that NFL Officiating is a full time job, and that they'd spend Thursday, Friday, and Saturday practicing officiating and watching the team's previous games looking for player tenancies, and Monday being reviewed for accuracy.

Throw out the "taunting" penalty

Allow the players to talk any kind of trash they want provided they're not throwing punches

Eliminate the PAT. Go for 1 from the 1 yard line or 2 from the 5.

Officiate forward progress the same on the goal line as they would anywhere else. At midfield they blow the whistle right away. On the goal line, they let them scrum forever. Unfair to the defense IMO.

15yards should be the max penalty. I think it's ridiculous to think players would purposefully interfere when they are beat but even then it is still a 15yd penalty which is more than enough. It's not like college corners run around tackling WRs every time they get beat

You have to gain positive yards for the clock to keep running. At end of game a kneel would be like running out of bounds.

So the Steelers would visit the Cowboys once every 30 years or so?

I'd also make Points awarded for FGs dependent on the distance of the kick. If the line of scrimmage is inside the 10 it's worth 1 point. From the 10-20, 2 points. 20-30, 3 points. 30-40, 4 points. Anything beyond the 40 is at least a 58 yard FG and worth 5 points.

College football needs to change the down without contact rule. It is simply ridiculous that a player isn't able to get up and keep going if he hasn't been touched. Just a stupid rule.
