Serious question, why hasn't San Antonio ever beaten the Lakers when L.A. isn't a trainwreck?
San Antonio has beaten L.A. in 1999 (before Phil and a 4 seed),'03(Lakers are 5 seed) and 2013 (another train wreck and 7 seed). L.A. on the other hand has beaten San Antonio in '01,'02,'04 and '08(all four years the Lakers made the Finals and San Antonio was a top 4 seed).
San Antonio has also never repeated as champs, which imo does not make them a dynasty. It looks like to me the Spurs have only won the title when L.A is down, ('99,'03,'05,'07) and cant truly compete when given an equal opponent.
Kobe>Duncan
Shaq>Duncan

SA has been above average for 16 straight seasons. Every year they have been one of the best teams in the league. While as you point out, Kobe has lead several "trainwrecks" in that same time span. Duncan has taken a team that wasn't known for winning and made it one of the Top 3-4 franchises in the NBA. That alone makes him better than Kobe or Shaq

The Spurs can't stop the Heat at all.

Isn't that more of a Laker excuse than a Spur explanation?

Four of those years can be labeled "transition years" for the Spurs if you want to play this game.

really lame and I'm a lakers fan. 99 and 03 laker teams were solid and by no means "trainwrecks" as you refer to them.

99 was just a weird year

it was a lockout year
So? All NBA teams played under the same circumstances, so how does the lockout matter?
Is the Heat's championship less legit because of the lockout last season? Stupid logic.

Duncan can't even keep his wife in check. that automatically disqualifies him from being considered the greatest of all time.

I realize your joking
But I guess that disqualifies MJ too

MJ was out messing around with every girl he could find while his wife was at home waiting for him.
Timmy was staying in his hotel rooms when his teammates when out to strip clubs and while his wife was out getting piped by the pool boy.

I'll say if he dominates the finals and captures MVP honors he's without question the better than Shaq and Kobe.

There is no world where Duncan is better than Shaq or Kobe.

GOAT forward, yes. Even if they don't win, I believe this. GOAT in general, I don't believe so.
