If an expansion MLB team was to come to the south what city would have the most success?

Several cities in the south deserve a team, the question is who deserves one the most?

Orlando
Nashville
Charlotte
Austin
Louisville (maybe)
New Orleans (maybe)

I think all would be successful expansion Cities but Austin and Nashville really standout to me.

Austin being the size it is without having one of the major 4 sports is crazy.

Nashville is booming and there’s not a team in the entire state of Tennessee

I think Orlando would be a home run but a major negative is the close proximity to the Rays, but with their whole situation in flux who knows

Out of those choices I'd say either Charlotte or Nashville, with Nashville in the lead.

Because Dallas and Houston won't allow that to happen.

Florida has 2 teams and no support for either, they don't need a 3rd. New Orleans selling tickets to 80 home games? No way. The other 3 are a toss up.

Nashville is the only sure thing, especially if the stadium is built near the tourist areas. The remainder are either a no way or crapshoot.

Nashville. I think it would be hard for Austin to gain a fan following with most folks here already being fans of the Astros/Rangers

New Orleans East has the room to make a huge area of shops, restaurants, the park, etc. The cheap and abundant real estate is the only reason.

Not only would the city leaders probably frick it up, no one is driving to the east from anywhere around.

oh and the murders I guess is a damper on that too.

New Orleans should be such an amazing city. Instead they let it turn into lawless Gotham city.

It was twenty years ago. Then Katrina happened, the transplants moved in, and it was over.

San Antonio is 75 miles from Austin and bigger. San Antonio will get an MLB or NFL team before Austin, IMO
