I'm sorry but I really don't hold a lot of stock on pro days. Sometimes guys have a bad workout. It happens. For bridge water his bad day happened when everyone was watching. He is still a first round talent imo

He will still be taken in the first round. The literal answer to your question is, not that much. Rookie wage scale kept him from losing a whole lot. Its all about the second contract, which makes draft position less relevant.

Bridgewater is going to get his shot, but he has definitely been outshined by Manziel and Bortles in every test from bowl season forward.

The idiot has ALWAYS thrown with a glove yet he decides not to on this pro day. I wouldn't want someone that stupid to be my QB!

I'd take it easy with all the "idiot" and "stupid" talk if all you're basing it on is his decision to not wear a glove. I'm sure he had a reason.

but but but the African American sportswriter for the Houston chronicle has written that the Texans would be fools NOT to draft Bridgewater at #1 then proceeded to "prove" it by seriously tearing down both Manziel and the UCF QB. I truly think most of these African American sportswriters are racists. and I didn't conclude this from this one article but many written over the years. sure, a few decades ago it was kind of their obligation to promote their race but that is bull shite today. if a white journalist only promoted white guys he'd be a racist and I believe that. so.....

there's nothing stupid about it. The schedule was a joke. Hell. In just the sec. Mett, mccarron, jff, shaw, murray.....all would have killed that schedule.

I've been saying all year after watching Bridgewater that he wasn't terribly accurate

You haven't watched him much at all then. He's going to be a good NFL QB. I like him and JFF. I'll be pleased with either one if the Jags want to take them.

All the first round QBs have a high chance of flopping

Manning, Luck, and Newton struck me as sure things, especially Manning and Luck.

Guys with up and down resumes like Palmer and guys from smaller schools like David Carr had higher chances of flopping, as did smaller QBs like Vick.

With all that being said, I think Manziel is not a sure thing, but I can't see him being an outright flop.

Newton was not a sure thing to me. He struggled with his accuracy coming into the draft and I thought that would hold him back. He's obviously improved that since then.

I don't see anyone in this crop of QBs that will be anything but avg at the next level. Many of the qbs should pray they get drafted by a winner and get to sit for a couple years behind someone like a Brees that is on the later end of their HOF careers.

I actually agree. I think JFF is such a wild card that he could be a colossal bust, injured pretty badly this year, or average #s throwing, but makes plays on his feet. I just don't see any of them being compared to the luck, manning, brees, brady, rodgers, etc. in 5 years

I mean seriously. The dude couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with no defense then Manziel goes out 61 for 64 throwing what frankly, were some more difficult throws. On top of that, ALL but one from under center?

Quoting his completion percentages doesn't exactly prove a whole lot:

quote:

Bridgewater went through the longest quarterback workout I’ve ever seen. He threw 65 passes in the workout, with 57 completions. Two of the incompletions were drops by the receivers. It wasn’t an Andrew Luck-type workout – not as impressive as that. The thing I couldn’t find out from Bridgewater was why he worked out without gloves (after using gloves in games during the season).

LINK /

Bridgewater may or may not be good in the NFL, but I don't think the fact that he threw 4 fewer completions than Manziel (without the gloves he uses in games) means anything.

He has flop written all over him. It's funny because I was in Louisville when Brohm was a big deal. Those idiots thought he was going to be big in the NFL too. They seem oblivious to the fact that there are probably 40 QBs in college football who would light up the Louisville schedule.

In Brohm's defense, he pretty much had his thumb wired to his throwing hand by his senior year.

Bridgewater will end up being a serviceable NFL QB. Nothing superstar but he'll be alright IMO.

ETA: UofL's line was nothing to write home about this season even with their schedule and Bridgewater played pretty tough while banged up as well.
