80-90 teams out of 120 would probably have lost to VT on Labor day night.
I see... Trying to make our win against VaTech look as good as possible....
I took Athlon's preseason ranking of VT, which is 35. There are 120ish teams in major college football. That means VT is better than 85 of them preseason. Additionally, OSU played them at home in prime time. I am not saying VT is some amazing team, but I think they would beat a lot of teams at home with 8 months to prepare

Ohio State is loaded and can beat anyone in CFB.
This is absolutely true. However, that schedule remains pretty darn easy!

Bama, etc wouldn't make it through a Big Ten schedule unscathed. They would end up losing one of those cold weather November games at Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St, Iowa, or Nebraska. One of those games they should win on paper.
When is the last time an SEC team played up north in sub 20 degree temps, much less any colder? Seriously makes a difference in how you construct your team and what type of offense you can run.
There is a reason that USC doesn't ever visit Notre Dame late in the season.

Be honest. Not many of our games are played in sub 20 degree weather. The Ohio State game at Minnesota last season was the coldest game the Buckeyes had played since the 1960s. Let's not pretend that it's an everyday event up there.

Gotta admit, you only have to sweat 2 games.
That's pathetic and I'd say the same if it were LSU.

It only takes one slip up. I've been to the last two Iowa v Nebraska games at Kinnick, cold as frick, and windy. Iowa v Minnesota game up at TCF a few years ago the field was frozen like an ice rink. I've froze my junk off at games against Wisconsin before. It gets plenty cold and it's pretty regular once November hits.

Last year for the Nebraska game I wore my ice fishing gear, if that puts it in perspective.
