How do you stay hopeful when your team sucks for years?

I've been a fan of the Mariners since 1995. In 41 years of existence, they only made the playoffs 4 times. They haven't been in the playoffs since 2001 which is the longest streak in sports (even outdoing the Browns). Today Cano gets suspended 80 days. They play in a tough division and most likely will extend that streak.

LSU and the saints were fun to follow in the 90s.

The Mariners have been and continue to be in that awful position of having enough talent to win ~80 games every season. A high floor and low ceiling

Thus not getting any high draft picks while simultaneously continuing to not make the postseason

Sucks that Felix is past his prime, always wondered what kind of performances we would see from him in the postseason

It can’t be easy being a fan....but it will feel so worth it once they finally get over that hump

I just pull for a team that is fun to watch until my team returns from the dead. Orlando Magic fan that follows the Warriors right now.

Most people have at least one team that fits this description.

Mine is Arizona football. I'm just resigned that no matter how things look, the season is going to end with a giant kick in the junk. When we win and make the Fiesta Bowl, we'll get whipped by Boise State. When we're about to beat Oregon and go to the Rose Bowl, the fans will rush the field prematurely and Oregon will come back and win. Khalil Tate makes a Heisman run, and then we lose out and RichRod gets fired in a sexual harassment scandal.

Just enjoy individual games and realize it doesn't really matter in life after all. The sun will still rise and maybe one day you really break through.

I knew which poster this was before even reading it. Lebron's 2nd biggest fan after Brian Windhurst.

Mariners have underachieved. It's the culture in that org.

I blame Griffey. He was my childhood hero that made me a fan of the Mariners. Little did I know that they wouldn't achieve anything close to that success for decades. Yet I'm loyal and can't support another team.

With the Braves it's been fun to watch the young talent develop.

I always lock in to the young guns and hope for the best. It definitely does suck when they don't pan out.

Your favorite sports teams are like a stock portfolio. Some of your funds will underperform, just hope you are hedged and have others that perform well and keep you happy

Disclaimer: also a Mariners fan

I can honestly say I don’t know. CC has only had three losing seasons in the last 35. My other sqaud is LSU football. It is a charmed life I gotta admit having those two as my teams.

When I was a kid...Golden St. was an absolute laughing stock.

It is not hopeless for the Mariners.

It only seems hopeless for the Browns.

If the owner and front office suck...your team will almost always suck.
