I didn't realize until seeing the numbers today how truly unprecedented his rookie year is. He is on pace to have the highest rookie QB rating IN HISTORY. Only 11 players have ever finished a year with a higher QB rating than he has now and 8 of them are either already in the HOF or future first ballot locks. He is the highest rated passer in the league on passes over 15 yards in the air with an absurd 130 rating, which would be the second highest rating ever in a season on such passes if that holds up.

Yeah he has a great OL and running game but that doesn't fully explain it. The guy was 19/20 for 210 yards and 2 TDs in the second half against the #1 defense in the league last week. He is just picking defenses apart. And from a guy who was essentially Mississippi State's version of Tim Tebow running a glorified spread option in college.

It's remarkable how fast he has developed.

Played in SEC as a starter for three years against some very, very good defenses. He has a great OLine to keep him clean. He has a very, very good RB. He has a very good receiving corps.

You must not have watched his senior year at state. I couldn't believe how accurate he was with the ball. Our receivers could hardly ever get separation on any team and he would just drop it right in very tight windows. I was amazed at his progress from junior to senior year.

This has a lot to do with it, I think. It has allowed him the room and opportunity to grow. A fairly easy schedule has also helped. But other than that, I agree. The rest has been all him. It's unreal.

It's a combination of things for sure. OLine plays a big part of it, but also he has Zeke the backfield who, imo, over performing where a lot of people thought he might start. Defenses are sorta selling out to stop him, and it takes a lot of pressure off Dak. He just needs to be a manager and he's done that and more.

Did I say that? No. I just said he became a very accurate passer his senior year.

Tim Tebow played on an all-star team with about 30 other pro players at UF. His experience was nothing like Dak's

Dak took Mississippi State to the #1 ranking in the country. He had horrible O-line at MSU. He was sacked 9 times against Bama last year, but still competed. The kid was obviously special.

Yeah forgot to even mention our o line. It's is consistently the worst position group under Mullen

Yeah well he may be the starting QB on the best team in the NFL but he would of made a heck of a 3rd string blocking TE in Les Miles' offense!

Then you're in the wrong line of work, friend.

214/316, 2,640, 17/2, 108.6.

NO ONE expected this.

I love how everyone's a fricking expert on this board.

It was so obvious that he slipped to rd 4.

A lot of guys look special in college. Pros are another thing.

He played well from the pocket as a senior, but come on. Nobody can honestly say they saw this coming. He is destroying NFL secondaries.

Great offensive line. Most rookies who start right away walk into an environment where the O-line is a disaster.

A lot of NFL scouts greatly value # of starts in college for a QB when projecting success in the NFL. I think being a QB in the SEC for 3+ years certainly helped.

Wonder if he'll fall to the Colin Kaepernick performance curve? CK looked pretty great his first couple years
