There's a thing called genetics. Just cause WM has produced bigger kids, it doesn't mean their s&c program is better.

Casey Sanders, WM S&C coach, has won the national high school strength and conditioning coach of the year award several times. He was also one hell of a powerlifter/powerlifting coach.

Edit: Same could be said for Billy Bell when he was at WM. Haven't followed him much since he left for Longview, but I know he is back in the Monroe area now.

I have no sympathy for publics especially the likes of WM. The amount of talent they are guaranteed to get is something a private school never has access to.

stop right there

WM isn't guaranteed shite. Kids and parents have to choose them like any school. By your logic how is any big public school not successful?

I said playoffs my brother playoffs. Fail to comprehend there huh? Dude was a serial choke artist. Went undefeated plenty of time through the Catholic league only to get bounced in the first or second rounds. He was feeling that pressure and had to do something about it which he did. He went and got better athletes. His philosophy hasn't changed over the years one bit.

Hank had the Westbank on lock until shaw "discovered" the tuition snafu or whatever. Roth knew and said we gotta get em here and it worked. Praise to him on that.

dude he's lost in the first round ONCE in 19 years.

Quarters 1997, 2000, 2007, 2011
Semis- 01, 02, 06, 14'
Finals 09, 2012, 2013,

5 of his second round losses, the team that beat them either won the state title or went to the Dome. (evangel, sulphur, Shaw 2x, Acadiana)

you're talking out your arse. Go lay down!

Roth's best teams were when shaw was still a power. Late 90's and early 2000s. With basically no west bankers.

Idk where my comments were so hard to comprehend. Public schools have a district. If parents aren't able to afford private or don't wish to spend the extra money on school, they send little Johnny to the local public school.

How is any big public school not successful?... Cmon we do understand certain areas produce better athletes.

Do most privates have an advantage over the averag public school. I'd say yes, better education usually but for a lot of the publics that are able to pull from a good region...privates are not the one with the advantage. Hence why a private hadn't one 5a or 4a in what? 10 years or so... Before the split obviously, which WM and I believe Acadiana voted for... So did Karr right?

After this I will say Catholic was the superior program until 2012. But Rummel takes now that with the titles they won though

Like that's some sort of accomplishment we have lost to the state champion in the playoffs the last 3 years definitely maybe the last 4. You guys have way more d1 talent now than you have ever had so to say that the teams pre Katrina were more talented is preposterous.

Stack the pre katrina D1 guys vs the post katrina D1. i already know who is gonna come out on top. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Maybe the older Rummel talent was better, but it wasn't exposed as well bc they weren't winning...

They really haven't had big names at the skill positions on offense

They did market it fine. You just don't remember

I'll post up a list later. Just know the 3 best players to even come out of rummel were pre Katrina. Michael burks, parquet, and Craig Steltz.

Bennie Mills - Florida
Nick child, Kevin Steltz, & wibel- lsu
Michael Hollander- ole miss
Keith chatelain & Lamar mills- Kentucky
Mario Loicano- Kansas state
Brandon dabdoub- Colorado

To name a few

Agreed and I don't understand why some choose not to, in fact some get very upset when kids are asked to go to showcases. Makes no sense to me. The more kids that you send to college, the more kids will want to play for you. Seems pretty easy to understand.

11 since 95 and you named a walk on. They do not count. Signees only. So ur back to 10. Lol. I'm telling u man Roth figured it out. He puts enough talent to make the offense go and tried to stack the shite out of that 3-3-5 drop 8 zone d.

A walk on who was a 2 or 3 year starter on a national championship team? How does that not count?

There are more than 11 those are just the ones off the top of my head. They have kids getting good offers like that these days but not nearly as many. shite the enrollment is almost half of what it was. No way is the talent the same. It's good but not great like it was.

If you're saying now is good but then was great, is Jay Roth a better coach now than then?
