he's not the reason the warriors lost, but damn I've never seen an NBA player miss so many wide open, uncontested shots, like ever. I mean, this dude's a professional

that's supposed to be the next max guy?

It's crazy how fast he went from the 4th Muskateer to a below average NBA starter.

On a team looking to make a playoff push like the Suns or Pelicans, it's a no risk high reward situation. If he doesn't pan out, they didn't really have any other realistic alternatives. The Suns have TJ Warren though so that's not the best example but you get my point. He can always be used as a trade chip later too.

I was BIG on him to start the season. Shame he didn't live to expectations

Honestly he might be-- he had it seems like 8 or 9 wide open 3s and made 1-- not forced 3s, 3s where the team rotated it around and no one was within like 5-10 feet of him. He makes even 40% of them its the first good game of the Finals.

Tbh he never impressed much. Can't create at all. What we've seen him do at the NBA level is knock down the occasional wide open 3. Above average defender. Trevor Ariza more or less. Slightly better on offense i suppose and a slightly worse defender.

I agree with the pseudo-comparison to Ariza.

Speaking of shitty performances...how about Delly's 3 fouls in 2 minutes. No idea how he is still in the league.

He shot 51% from the field and 43% from three in the first four games. Good player, really bad game.

Yeah I though Barnes has been a difference maker in a few games thus far in the Finals.

Tonight was awful though.

I dont. Ariza made his money being a major factor and clutch in the playoffs for the Lakers. What has Barnes done this post season???? Exactly.

With that said Ariza is a cautionary tale of assuming a role player is just an under utilized star in the wake simply because he was a good player that benefited from less defensive focus on a championship team. Whoever pays Barnes can expect to be in every conversation for the worst contracts in the NBA for the next several years....So with my teams luck the Pelicans will sign him.
