You know what, you are probably right.

And I am sure it was my gold and blue shaded glasses that caused me to hear Mike and Mike reminiscing about working the Rodgers draft the other day, and how when they interviewed him right after his selection they basically had to console him because of how distraught and upset he seemed.

Ej Manuel, really?

Not defending Manuel pick, but you're acting like Geno is leaps and bounds over Manuel. That's just the media hype.

Neither are worthy of a first round pick. Geno was a product of a system that threw it a ton, so his stats were on point.

If Manuel played in a Texas Tech-like offense, I'm sure his numbers would have been similar

Dude, Rodgers pouted like a baby at the draft. He did use it to his advantage a few years later tho.

To be fair, I'd think that most everyone would "pout" in this situation. To have a camera shoved in your face after every time you don't get picked is fricking annoying and embarrassing.

The difference between both of those scenarios and Geno's is that the 1st and 2nd round on the same day.

I'd bet Rodgers and Quinn would have been AWOL if their drafts were similar to Geno's.

Eh, I'm not saying Geno is leaps and bounds better than Manuel either, but nothing I have heard from pundits/media types (or fans, for that matter) or seen with my own two eyes leads me to believe Manuel has the consistent accuracy to throw it 50 times a game with the success Geno does.

In the games I saw him play, it seemed like when Manuel missed on a throw, he missed it really fricking badly.

Jets have made calls today to multiple teams to try to move up from 39th spot in second round to draft QB. Debated Geno Smith at No. 13.

He's already out of the first round. frick it, late 2nd, 3rd round - I just hope he goes to a non-dumpster fire organization.

Man, have people overreacted to Geno talking about leaving...

quote:

Yesterday was Smith’s mother’s birthday. Obviously, it wasn’t as festive of an occasion as everyone had hoped. That was part of the reason why Smith planned on leaving New York City instead of sticking around for Day 2 of the draft, according to a source who was with the signal-caller Thursday night. He didn’t want his mom to be upset, and planned on going home with her and watching the draft there.

No joke.

Dude was upset (just like all other QBs projected to go high who then slide and watch upwards of $15 mil leave their bank accounts), stayed in the green room till all picks were in and he knew he was not getting picked, and was just going to go home like originally planned. People really need to chill out on the "shows weakness" bullshite.
