Of course they want to investigate. If something simple happened like one of their members tripping on a step on the way to the field, they would want to investigate the egregious affront to the gay community. No one is allowed a mistake with these people. It's always seems that they reason things happen to them because they are gay.

Furthermore, why is it an all gay choir. That's not very inclusive. What if a straight guy wants to join, would they be tolerant of his lifestyle?

Even furthermore, that's what you get for lip syncing.

Honest mistake?
Hopefully not. Hopefully it was planned weeks in advance with the sole intention of humiliating these men in front of their own friends and family.

Muahahaha.

to be fair, it probably started out as just a men's choir and then they realized all the members were gay

they didn't boo them because they were gay. they booed them and then they turned out to be gay.

in a weird way, it might have been homophobic not to boo them just because they were gay.

The chorus said it then suffered homophobic abuse from fans as the singers were escorted from the field. The choir said the incident raised “serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community.”

So the Padres bring in a gay choir. A 3rd party vendor fricks up the anthem, gay slurs get thrown at them by fans, and it's the organization's fault?

Exactly. I was trying to come up with a quip about whether or not people would have an issue with an all-straight men's choir and I just couldn't take that idea serious.

All this could have been avoided had they sung the anthem live.

It isn't like they blasted Gloria Estefan's Turn the beat around over the loud speakers. Seems like a honest mistake to me.

So what happens if it was on purpose? Why would the city attorney need to get involved? What law was broken in that worst case scenario?

I didn't know it was illegal to not accept that lifestyle. I guess those 'fans' who booed should be prosecuted to the fullest, yeah?
