True, sportsbooks aren't directly concerned with shutting down arbitrage of betters between sportsbooks. However, betters are. There is almost always an "ïnvisible hand" of arbitrage bets that knocks the arbitrage between the sites out. Thus, the institution of Vegas sportsbetting makes arbitrage opportunities that beat the juice VERY rare.
That is why this is a thread-worthy discussion.

Fair enough, I was arguing against the line being "wrong" or a "mistake" based on a line from a different sports book.

OK, well that was just the conjecture of my friends and I. Whether it is wrong due to a typo, computer error, scam, etc, or wrong because betters for some reason just haven't jumped on a line that is obviously huge +EV and probably even guarenteed arbitrage value is not the chief concern of this topic.
I think the point is that Pelicans fans should be alerted that they are getting an incredibly favorable line on betting Pels +200 if they are interested.
ALternatively, those(like you) who think 30% chance of Pels making the playoffs is about right can be alerted that the over/under is 41.5 in case you are interested.

Line didn't move a bit with the Rondo acquisition. This furthers my suspicion that the line is simply "wrong". I mean, a case could be made that Rondo makes the Pels worse. But what are the chances that they are EXACTLY as likely to make the playoffs with him? Not more or less likely.
