Who wouldn't want to coach AD? I'm guessing he picks a team that lets him do whatever the hell he wants, like the Clippers did with Doc or the Pistons with SVG.

Would be another prediction that Simmons got correct, but some on the Pelicans board will still hate him and call him an idiot for bashing the Jrue trade.

Yeah Simmons said Thibs to Pels and I think it would be great for both parties

Sounds like another Harbaugh/49ers situation.
Hasn't turned out so good for the 49ers so far and the season hasn't even started.

Yea let's bring in Tom fricking Thibodeau to run the most injury-plagued team in the league over the past few seasons. The Pels have a very young core that he can ruin by their respective 27th birthdays.

For those that said thibs wouldn't be a great college coach...are you kidding ? He's a control freak (Nic saban) and those guys work well in college. I'm not sure how good of a motivator he is, but you don't necessarily need that in college. The only thing I could see him being bad with are the practice restrictions and recruiting. But he has the pro pedigree so he could always get an Ex player to do the recruiting for him. Plus, with the no defensive 3 secs, he'd be able to load up to strong side with impunity.

The only person who he plays a ton of minutes is Butler, this season. In past seasons he played Deng a lot (38-39 minutes) and Rose (37 minutes) I don't see the minutes thing to be that big of a deal, unless you're referring to other factors that make you feel that he'll ruin players.

He also has a ridiculous practice schedule, replacing shootarounds with 3 hour practices.

Pretty stupid if the Bulls let go thibs. He's a top 5 coach in the NBA if you ask me.

quote:I agree he is one of the top coaches. But sometimes it's best for both sides for the coach to move on and bring in someone fresh, especially if there is an ideal candidate. Players and the front office will always start tuning out the coach. It's better to get out too soon than too late.

Except the Bulls players haven't tuned out Thibs at all.
