The issue is acting like the system was completely broken and the owners were losing money hand over fist when clearly that was a total fabrication
players, through their agents, lie to ownership all the time

You can when Richardson was talking about HIS team not making money. HIS team was not.

You pathological capitalists are pathetic. You will defend anything as long as it justifies making money.

These fricking owners you defend wouldn't piss on on you if you were on fire. They would have you killed if they knew they could get away with it and could generate a profit from it. But hey--this is America and our only priority is the profit margin, right?

After his team received its revenue sharing check, it was making money. Part of the NFL franchise business model, whether you like it or not, is based on revenue sharing.

Yes a NFL owners goal is to make as much money as possible.

The funniest part of all of this is that these owners use corporate welfare to built their stadiums and a socialist system of shared revenue in order ti guarantee annual profits...

And their neo-randian fanboys act as if all of these guys are self made and they think that they, too, can get in the club as long as they kiss management's arse.

Which is why you can't ignore revenue sharing in a discussion of how much money they make...

if 32 guys like Jerry Richardson didn't exist, this is where all the NFL players would be...

There will always be a demand for entertainment.

And there are only 31 owners.

I wish more teams were like the Packers.

I'm pointing out the irony here.

That you're trying to redirect means that you concede the point...

I'm really not trying to redirect .. I'm just saying that you can't possibly blame the owners for taking incentives from local and state entities no matter how much money their business may or may not make ..

Yes you can blame them.

I understand their motives for doing so but don't tell me the public can't be upset and blame owners for using less than honest methods for getting tax dollars.

God forbid the owners want a bigger piece of the pie. They are not in the business for their freaking health.

FWIW, I was 100% behind the owners.

the players are gonna be the ones to ruin the game as we know it, with their lawsuits because they couldnt manage the money they made playing the game. If that doesnt show you who should be in control of the bottom line idk what will
