This board has some true diehard Louisiana native Pats fans. Very noble fellows taking on such a downtrodden organization as their team from across the country

So it would be "Noble" to take on the browns? Its a fricking game that you watch. There is no nobility associated with it. Strictly entertainment.

Exactly, the only Patriot fans I ever met before Super Bowl XXXVI were from New Hampshire.

Any true NH fan. will tell you, pre-2001 it was the following:

1. Red Sox
2. Celtics
3. Probably Bruins at that point
4. Patriots

Now?

1. Red Sox
2. Patriots
3. Celtics
4. Bruins

I finally made it to Foxboro to see a game Saturday. I've seen them in Nashville, Indianapolis and St. Louis.

What happens is that these guys that are Patriots fans now were 49er and Cowboy fans as kids, and when Brady and Belichek retire, they'll move on too.

I sometimes wish I had in me what those guys have. They never have to worry about a sports team disappointing them.

I was a Green Bay fan as a kid because of Brett Favre, but once he left, I didn't root for them any more. Turned out I was just a Favre fan, same with my hatred of the Rams due to Kurt Warner, the Pats due to Belichek and Brady, the Steelers due to Big Ben, San Francisco due to a Terrell Owens, and Seattle due to Carroll.

I get amused by people who deny being a bandwagon fan because the huge brand of a team they support is in the midst of a mediocre stretch.

"I mean, the yanks finished 4th in the division, who would be on a bandwagon like that."

"Man U hasn't won anything recently"

Maybe they started following them because their state didn't have a team and they played so many nationally broadcasted games over the years. It's a very similar concept on why there are so many Cubs fans that have no connection with the team. Surely you can understand that concept.

This right here. I was born in OK, and lived in SC most of my life so I didn't really have a hometown team to root for (I don't care what anyone says... the Panthers are North Carolina's team). I just started watching Green Bay games and just liked the team.

Also technically every NFL fan is a bandwagon fan because none of us really have a concrete connection to that team like you would for a school. Now if you jump from team to team based on who's good from year to year then that's pretty bad, but I think that the 15 year old kid who's a patriots fan in Oklahoma City is just as much of a fan as the 45 year old guy in Boston who never misses a home game.

I understand a 15 year old that is a fan of the Patriots since they grew up watching them on TV so much in a state with no pro football team (like kids growing up in Alabama and Mississippi). I think what is being addressed are those older fans (20's and up) that suddenly become fans of a team because they are starting to win championships.

But doesn't a true fan support his team through the good years and bad? Yeah people pick teams like Manchester, the Yankees and the Lakers because they are blue bloods and it's easy to cheer for them, but isn't a bandwagon someone who only cheers for the current flavor of the month?

Like someone who went from Cheering for the Lakers with Shaq and Kobe, to the Heat with Lebron and friends, to the Warriors with Curry, Clay and that baby back bitch Durant?

I'd say this is more frontrunning than bandwagoning.

Been a Brady fan since he was at Michigan wearing #10 (always follow Aggie and Wolverine football).

Like Bill Belichick because he reminds me of Coach Pop

You and I are on the same page. Pick whomever you want to root for, but by God, stick with them through thick and thin.

You know how many Bulls then Lakers now Cavs fans there are? Probably a lot.

On the other hand, please don't be that guy with a Bama football/Kentucky basketball half and half license plate.
