Do I count as bandwagon if I actually lived there? I was never a Saints fan (hate Tom Benson), so it was easy to jump to the Pats. I will say though, I am not so much a fan as I simply root for them to do well.

I am a Celtics fan though.

Reminds me of Lil Wayne being a Packers fan. Dude grew up in New Orleans....but some how is a die hard Green Bay fan.
This is a really terrible example. Wayne grew up a huge Favre fan( ) so he rooted for the packers. Nobody really cared though and he wasnt very public about it.

Then during the New Orleans super bowl run, he was interviewed and they asked how excited he was for "his Saints" to be hosting the NFC champ game, and he said he wasnt going to be a fake bandwagon jumper and act like he has been a lifelong Saints fan.

The same. The pats had like 5-6 LSU players on the team. Bledsoe was still the QB and they weren't that good. Saban was sending his boy Belicheck players during his time here.

My favorite on this board is the Cubs and Pats fan from Louisiana, who's hasn't left the state his whole life, but has been a die hard fan.

30. I was a red Sox fan first as garciaparra was my favorite player and so I picked the team in the same area. I had a bledsoe Jersey and everything.

So if I've been born and raised in Louisiana, I can't be a cubs fan?

What's your logic behind that?

Started life out as a Steelers fan due to knowing John Stallworth. My mom and his wife taught school together. Was a Dolphins fan from Dan Marino's rookie season until he retired and of course being an Auburn fan, I pulled for the Raiders as well when they had Bo. Since Bo got injured and couldn't play and Marino retired I don't keep up with the NFL much at all.

I do have a friend that has lived his enitre life in Alabama and has been a Patriots fan his whole life. he is almost 50 so he definitely was not a bandwagon jumper.

I'm a Vikings fan, but picked up the Patriots as a second team as they carved their way to the Super Bowl against the Bears, when I was a young guy.

Being decidedly anti-Bears was probably the single biggest motivator for me cheering for them through that ugly ugly Super Bowl loss. I didn't have an AFC team, so favored them thereafter, despite the letdown, though I did enjoy the Bills and Bengals as they played out a half decade of high quality rivalry in the late 80s/early 90s

I thought Bledsoe might make them relevant, but he was the Drew Brees of his era-- big numbers for nothing teams.
