Are you for a 4-6-8 team playoff? Personally I am, I think the 03, 06 and 07 teams would all have wont a playoff in college football.

They will manage to frick up the playoff system worse than the BCS, so I'm against it.
It was a good idea in spirit.

Hard to say without knowing more about the selection criteria. I am adamantly opposed to limiting the playoff participants to conference champions only.

I like the current 2-team playoff. I also like the 4-team playoff.
Don't like anything more than that.

The problem I have with changing the system is that I am almost positive that they will screw it up even worse than it already is. Also, it will become a bidding war between the "traditional" big bowls & other venues for the NC game-according to somethings I've read. Too much room for corruption.

I think it should be conference champions only. This year, that would have put LSU (who beat Bama), Oregon (who beat Stanford), OK State, Boise or Wisconsin in the playoff. While Bama and Stanford would have had better records, they would have been eliminated through conference play. I don't like the idea of more than one team from a conference in the playoff if there are going to be only four spots. (NOTE: I didn't think two teams from the same conference should have been in the BCSCG; Bama would have brought the conference only $500K less by playing in any other BCS game.)

I like a 4 team playoff and what they really need is a selection committee.

I've had it with everything. They should blow the thing up and go back to the traditional bowl system. Pac-12 & Big 10 to Rose; SEC to Sugar; Big 12 to Fiesta; and ACC to Orange. Then , let the polls figure out who's NC.

If I was a team in a conference I'd want conference championship games taken away.

selection committee.
Hell naw...I like the BCS rankings over a selection committee. At least the BCS rankings are somewhat objective.
I also agree with others that only conference champions are eligible....How can a team be #1 in the country when they were in fact #2 in their own little conference?
Posted on 4/27/12 at 12:59 pm to Tigah32
I am opposed to playoff. If people were pissed that Bama was in the NCG last year, just wait till a 4th or even 8th ranked team gets a shot due to playoffs. It will weaken the importance of regular season games.
I say NO to playoffs.

It really has nothing to do with Notre Dame. I wouldn't have wanted to see the Big East champion in a playoff in 2011 while Bama stayed home.

If not a selection committee then force the people to show their formulas that they are using for the computers.

Against. I think all that need be fixed with the current system is weighting the polss to have less value in the standings. <Numbers don't lie. People lie.> All this 4 team playoff will do is prove that Boise St. "are who we thought they were" not good enough to play big boy football.

With a selection committee, you will definitely get a biased view of who "is in". In this case, an eight team play-off would be better.
I kind of like the current structure.

2 or 4 team playoff only and no selection committee just use the BCS to determine who is in the playoffs
Posted on 4/27/12 at 1:09 pm to 10888bge
Playoffs are dumb. This year was an anomaly that Nov. 5th didn't matter. 9.5 out of 10 seasons there is no coming back from that loss. Under a playoff, maybe half the time.

I'm a plus one that is very afraid of the BCS extending to more and more teams, which I'm adamantly opposed to. More than four, against. Four, for.

The system is so f'ed up right now. You have some computers ranking teams on these formulas nobody knows about. Then you have the coaches poll where coaches are going to try to help out their friends and conference buddies. Plus they don't watch most of the games.
