To be honest, the whole disrespecting your opponent thing has made me not like boxing or MMA.
You don't have to trash talk your opponent. In my opinion, it's unprofessional and only shows your insecurity.
I watched one MMA fight a long time ago, and some American guy was about to go up against some French dude from Africa. The American guy was talking trash, saying he won't beat me and he's soft and yadda yadda yadda.
When they told the African, he was shocked. He said he didn't understand why someone would disrespect an opponent, that they were professional fighters and he expected more. I completely agreed with him.
He ended up kicking the American's arse, btw.
