adding Gattis pretty much assures that lineup leads the MLB in K's this year

Both are fairly low ceiling prospects. Rio has some potential and might become an everyday player in the majors at some point, but Folty is a career reliever.

I know you're an SEC Rantard who can only spit out shite like "trade rape" and "butt hurt" and "solid melt," but I think both teams made out well.

Not a chance. Braves are going to be the front runners. All they have to do is intentionally walk Freeman and Simmons and then just strike everyone else out. Braves will break the record for K's by a team in a season. Count on it.

So even though you completely shite on the prospects (and everyone seems to disagree with you) tell me what you think of Gattis to justify giving up that much?

As an Astros fan I think I like this move.

Losing Folty and Ruiz kind of sucks, but Gattis is probably worth it.

Now I wonder what happens with Castro. There were rumors at one time he could be traded.

Not close. He might end up "hurt," but LE just loves to come to remind everyone how we lost a key to the World Series.

Now Houston just lost 3 enormous pieces to the 2022 wild card race.

Thanks for looking out LE.

The prospects are good but the Astros have quite a few arms down in the minors as well as Moran at third. We also have two top 5 picks in the draft this year.

The Astros gave that up for 4 years of Gattis. It's a good deal for both sides, quit calling trade rape on guys that may never make it to the show.

I'll take high upside prospects over a guy who has played 2 years and hasn't played over 108 games in either of those years who is HR or bust and cannot contribute in the field

I don't know why you're upset about this. Gattis was trade bait ever since he hit his first home run.

The Astros also can play him in a DH role

I doubt Gattis sees much time at C, if any.

the Astros send a whole lot of years of control to the Braves for a pitcher who may end up as a reliever, for a third baseman who was behind Colin Moran on the organizational depth chart and a second pitcher with a flat fastball.

As for gattis, o/u games where he starts at catcher -- 1.5

I'll take the under. Between holes at LF and 1B, (I still like RobbieG), and with Castro and Conger.....they didn't bring him in to catch

wait, y'all have such a great farm system, that's what you've been telling me the last 3 years.

But now you lose 3 of the top 10 guys & these guys are nothing special? Is that how you're going to play this one out?

Carter has played left field before. Gattis and Carter splitting time could reduce wear and tear on both.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Singleton back in the minors honestly.

Singleton can go ahead and not play and carter will DH.

Folty is a mega arm but is definitely a project. I'm not sure where you are seeing this hype on Ruiz, he's a nice prospect but far from a major loss in the system

Gattis should park a bunch in the boxes this year
