You need to study up on Big 5, Palestra, Warriors, etc.
Please stop trying to convince yourself that Philly is a nothing in terms of basketball history, market, and players.

You wouldn't consider Philly, DC or Boston? Boston has always been big on the Celtics. Philly is traditionally huge for college basketball. And the DC area has produced as much raw talent as any area even thought the Wizards historically suck.

The national media are myopic and lazy. They want the stories and superstars to come to them, not have to go to Cleveland and Oakland and Oklahoma City to find them. That's why they're fighting it and are still trying to impose their tired narrative on the public.

Ralph Sampson and Len Bias come to mind. They are not from DC metro but they were from the vicinity. AI and Alonzo Mourning comes from the Virginia coast but are definitely tied to DC.
Other players from DC metro: Dave Bing, Sherman Douglas, Adrian Dantley, Roy Hibbert, Johnny Dawkins, John Thompson. No bona fide superstar but all are big names and influential figures in basketball.
Other suburban DC guys: Steve Francis, Victor Oladipo, Derek Whittenburg, Dell Curry

They are trying to tell us that every single NBA player is narrowing his choices to either the Knicks or Lakers.
And when someone signs, its "X Player mulled an offer from NY and LA"!
They just HAVE to talk about them. When no one wants to sign with either. Its not 1985 anymore.
Then why do you watch?

ESPN does this with Texas for CFB and Dooke for CBB. Nothing new. Cosch K is pretty much a saint in their eyes. It is fricking disgusting to me.
