Had this same issue on Friday with A&M. Apparently the doors don't open until right before tip. It will be full later in the 1st half

Or session tickets and those seats are held by other teams playing at that site. Those fans are just skipping this game.

The empty seats are from fans of other schools that bought day passes.

You can't buy individual tickets, just full day passes.

It's stupid but I think they do it on purpose to not give a team like OU a huge advantage in a game like this.

There's no way that can be true can it? I would be pissed.

No way I'm traveling across the country, dropping a couple grand just to skip the other game. I guess fans of teams playing in the second game might trickle in a bit slower though.

Guarantee two sellouts by making you buy a ticket to a game you don't want to go to.

Capitalism. frick yeah.

Those empty seats are family seats/admin seats and I bet VCU didn't bring much

Rest of arena looks full

There's no way to have 2 games in a session 30 minutes apart and empty the arena between games. That's why the session tickets are sold.

Thursday/Friday games have 2 sessions
Saturday/Sunday games have 1 session

That's why these games never look full.

You buy tickets by the session so those who have tickets and are fans of another team will trickle in throughout the first half.

The "last minute letting people in" is the student sections that only get tickets for their individual games.
