re: Does UNC deserve a playoff spot if they beat Clemson?

I will use my second post to again point out that Ohio State has an easier schedule than UNC (after next weekend).
It didn't help matters that we had three Power 5 teams back out on games against us recently (Minnesota, Tennessee, and THE Ohio State University). Not saying that is the reason we had two FCS opponents on our schedule this year, but OSU backed out of our series with them.

Also, you ignore the fact that one of the FCS teams UNC played is 10-2
Which one is that? Probably not 4-7 Delaware, so I assume you meant 9-2 North Carolina A&T. Congrats on that big win, but FCS is FCS, no matter who they are.

Still, I wonder how terrible a loss it would seem if Spurrier hadn't bailed on his team early in the season.
I wonder how bad we would've beaten Michigan State if Zeke had 46 carries, too. Wondering doesn't win football games.

My UNC bashing has been more to justify Stanford being more deserving hence why I keep comparing 2 loss Stanford to 1 loss UNC.
Ohio State would beat the fricking shite out of UNC but that's besides the point

UNC OOC: S. Carolina, Illinois, NC A&T, Delaware
OSU OOC: VT, Hawaii, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan
Whose schedule was terrible and would set a poor precedent?

Wasn't that mutual because no arrangements could be made after the Big Ten went to nine games? Ohio State also replaced UNC with Oklahoma and TCU. UNC replaced Ohio State with Cal.

You had the opportunity to prove that before you backed out of games against us. BTW, I don't think they would.
I agree that Stanford would have a better shot at getting in, but two losses hurts their argument.

SEC West
Big Ten East
ACC Coastal
Guess which one doesn't belong.

From Sagarin:
CONFERENCE CENTRAL MEAN
1 SEC-WEST (A) = 83.34
2 BIG 12 (A) = 79.23
3 PAC-12(NORTH) (A) = 78.66
4 PAC-12(SOUTH) (A) = 77.87
5 BIG TEN-EAST (A) = 76.39
6 ACC-COASTAL (A) = 75.79
Guess whose perception is flawed?

I trust you don't follow your fairly successful basketball team.
I spend most of my time following UNC football. Not always fun, but it has been this year.

Sagarin puts Ohio State at #3 and UNC at #13. Since you apparently put some faith in this nonsense, Massey has Ohio State at #4 and UNC at #12.

I don't follow any basketball. Football and hockey are the only two sports I pay attention to.

Won't fault you for that.

I have no problem with that as of this week, but the discussion was 'if we beat Clemson'. If we do, I'd imagine that ranking rises quite a bit.

Probably, but Ohio State will improve as well with a Michigan State win. There's zero chance UNC passes Ohio State in these rankings. Those aren't the ones that matter, though.

UNC's schedule > Ohio St schedule

No, they aren't. The one that does has disrespected this year's UNC team from the beginning so we'll see what it looks like Tuesday.
Pretty clear to me that we need an 8 team playoff. 5 conference champs with 1 Group of five team (assuming they're ranked in the top 12 of CFP rankings) and 2 at large bids to do with as they please.

This is why I don't think they'll get in. I think the committee has them sitting behind Ohio State and Stanford. UNC would need Bama and Stanford to both lose. Even then, Florida might take it.

Maybe, but I don't think finding a #8 is going to be any more fun. I guess we'd get more quality football, so I'd be on board. I've always been a fan of six teams with 1/2 getting a bye, and 3-6 playing in.

Absolutely. Arguing otherwise is automatic disqualification from life
