I knoew he played HS at Warren Easton and then at UH for a little while followed by a very brief NBA stint. Did anyone see him play in his HS or college days? Did he have legit pro talent?

Someone told me years back that Master P once played in the NBA, I obviously did not believe him until he showed me this picture.

Without looking ... in my minds eye I see him in a Hornets uniform. Didn’t he debut with Hornets?

Percy had a contract with two different NBA teams in the late 1990s: the Charlotte Hornets during the 1998 pre-season, and the Toronto Raptors in the 1999 pre-season.[82][83] However, Miller did not play for either team after the conclusions of each pre-season. He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Fort Wayne Fury and the International Basketball League (1999-2001) for the San Diego Stingrays. In 2004, he played for the ABA's Las Vegas Rattlers and Long Beach Jam. He took part in the 2008 McDonald's NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and scored 17 points.[84]

Why’s crazy about all of that is this was when he had already made hundreds of millions in the rap game. So he was a bit older. Probably could have played if he was able to keep playing after high school but the streets called and he had to make $$.

Yes. I believe the highest he made it was center court at the LSU rec center.

He played at the UREC at LSU in the 90s (while he was well known). At the time, I thought he was decent but nothing special. When he was there, it was really hard to get on the court so I never got the chance to play against him.

I was a starter on a playoff 5A HS basketball team but never played college and felt like I could have matched up well against him.

This thread also reminded me about Donald at the UREC during that time. Great athlete but complete jerk. I think he was also one of the walk-ons briefly during the time of the two guys that started the restaurant. They probably realized quickly he wouldn't be part of their partnership!

I played with him a few times at the REC back in the day. He used to bring guys like Kerry Kittles and Randy Moss up there

Ha, Donald was good people and could jump out the gym. He’s the only reason I ever got in any games with Master P.

Ahh ok, maybe I was wrong about Donald and he could definitely jump out the gym! There were a couple of times when I (or someone I was playing with) had next and was fully confirmed by everyone waiting. Then, as soon as the game ends, Donald's on the losing team and somehow gets next again and argues about it for 10 minutes before everyone gives up and starts a game on the next court. He definitely thrived on arguing about stuff.

Some of my favorite UREC moments were getting the best of Donald. Now that I think about it, maybe I was just using that Jordan mentality of 'artificial motivation' to play better - most of his arguing wasn't directed at me.

Don’t think those existed during the Master P era

Man when I was at orientation during the summer of 98 they showed us the Rec. Some guys were walking in with foot locker bags. It was Ps people bringing in shoes because some of the guys he was with had the wrong soles. It was a trip seeing all of them there.
