Do you clear bench for Durant if you are the warriors?

I am no Warriors fan, but imagine Steph, Klay, Durant, and Draymond... how the hell do you guard that?

Can't they get KD only giving up Bogut and Barnes?

If so, yes it's certainly worth it.

Durant won't entertain going to GS. He would never live it down.

Sure. Most of their backups are easily replaceable. Obvi iggy is tough. Then Livingston is an above average backup. But everyone else on their bench can easily be replaced especially when you consider that the later in their career type players will play for them at a discount.

What's the point? Only one guy can score each time down the court. Durant is a scorer first and foremost. Nobody has scored more than the Warriors over the past two seasons.

It's not as simple as people put it. They'd have one more year of running it back minus Barnes. Then they'd have to resign Iguodala on the downside of his career. It's not like they're set up like this for 3-4 years.

You don't, but there is only one ball to go around. It is hard to argue that the addition of Durant would be a net positive for the Warriors. Whatever he adds from an efficiency standpoint with his minutes will be offset from the quality of they play they receive from their bench.

The Warriors are on the cusp of closing out the NBA Finals in 5 games on the strength of their bench. Blowing that up is crazy IMO.

The Warriors have two lineups that are void of Steph, Klay, and Draymond Green, played at least 40 minutes this season, and have a positive plus minus.

I'm sure the rings he would win would ease his troubled mind.

Yeah you're looking at something like Steph, Klay, Draymond, KD, and Kevon Looney, and some combination of Speights, Barbosa, Livingston, and Rush, depending on how far over the cap they want to go. The other problem is that Steph will be a free agent next summer so this team friendly contract goes away. Big time.

The best argument for the Warriors, IMO, is that you're getting a guy who is actually younger than Steph and you can lock him up with Klay and Dramond who are on contracts through at least 2019. You assume you'll get veteran free agents to fill in the gaps after that.

My issue is that much like the big three in Miami, you're going to be overpaying for his net value to your team. You can't get Wade, LeBron, and Bosh without 3 max deals, but only one or two have any possibility of making a max impact on your team. You can't simply take Durant's numbers and tack them on to the Warriors' players.

Those are rings that they're likely to get whether he's there or not. Why would that make him feel good?

I could see if he was the piece to put them over the top but he's not.

I just don't know how that works, dropping Durant onto a team that won 73 games in the regular season and is about to wrap up a title.

Reports are the owner has no issue going into the luxury tax if they are a contender. And they plan on matching any offer for Harrison Barnes this offseason.

I don't see them chasing Durant

Harrison Barnes is in line to get $100m+ if the Warriors max him out. That'd be hilarious if they made him the highest paid player on the team.

Why am I afraid the Pelicans are going to massively overpay for Harrison Barnes?

and one more bench guy.

the aging barbosa. they will want Ezili. Ezili apparently wants to go play for Walton.

barnes is a free agent of some kind, so he may require some sign/trade thing, but he's history. he's not worth what he is going to get.
I defer to the dude writing (above) that management wants to pay him the big bucks. I doubt that really happens. They are just letting him stay calm during the playoffs until they call him and let him know he's been dealt.

I'd think he'd want to go to a team that actually needs his help.

No one would give him credit for winning. They'd just say he got his ring on the coattails of Steph Curry.
