This very reason might be a contributing factor in my point of view.

Some of the "coincidences" that line up with huge bets in his hometown with his crap performances say you may be wrong here. The details of those parlays on $1 mil + bets is absolutely insane for all of those to be coincidences [all games he hit and pitched as well].

I'd argue this actually impacted the on-field product way more than the Astros because Astros were actually worse across the board at home that year.

I have heard that Ichiro’s English was very fluent when it came to profanity.

This interpreter guy might make a hundred fifty grand per year. Let's be generous and say he makes 250 grand.

He was actually making around 500k a year, Idk why you bothered to make this post if you weren't even gonna look that up.

If nothing happens to Ohtani then you can shut up about the Astros and everything the *Dodgers "accomplish" this year will be a sham.

I manage my own money and I would not notice $2-3K missing from any of my accounts. I do get a text alert of all charges on my CC or money taken out of my bank acct.

I'd guess most people that level of rich aren't checking their Chase app to see their balance like you and I do. They have other people handle that for them.

That's cool, I definitely would too.

The question I'd ask though is, would you give your childhood best friend unfettered access to your bank accounts and all of your money?

Are there details for these bets somewhere I can see them?

I honestly have a hard time thinking Ohtani was actually involved. I mean, anyone dumb enough to escrow all of their income and agree to his absurd contract details could easily be foolish enough to get taken advantage of by his family and closest friends.

But if there are details about large bets involving games Ohtani was pitching, I would be interested in hearing about them.

Meanwhile you've got Ohtani who doesn't even respect America enough to learn a few cursory phrases of English in the 6 years he's lived here literally wire a heckin bookie $4.5 million and nothing happens.

ohtani speaks english, it is just a ruse to avoid answerring questions from the press

My main question on this is how did this interpreter get a $4.5mil line of credit?

Exactly.

And the story changing more than once to make Shohei look like a victim in the best light possible is pretty telling as well.

He played dumb/denied any and all involvement today.

Do you believe him?

Dude is seemingly everything that’s right about baseball, but I’m not sure I believe it’s possible to be that ignorant of his personal financial situation. We’re talking millions of dollars.

I just don’t know.

Him being held hostage is a serious crime or do you think that was fake?

I'm 31 years old. I may be young compared to a lot of yall, but in all my years of living, this is the biggest lie I've ever witnessed. Ohtani is 1000% full of fricking shite and he made all those bets. I don't believe one mother fricking word.

But because of his talent and he plays for the scumbag Dodgers, this will all be completely forgotten. You know it, I know it, we all know it. Making this a no deal while denying Pete Rose from the Hall of Fame deservedly makes the MLB the biggest fricking morons and hypocrites in the world.

Supposedly making about 85K last year.

The Dodgers knew this when signing Ohtani and hiring Mizuhara and were apparently OK enough with it to reportedly increase Mizuhara's salary from $85,000 to mid-six figures. The team probably saw that as the cost of doing business with Ohtani, but it ended up being much costlier.
Dave Roberts happy there's no longer a 'buffer' between Shohei Ohtani and Dodgers after Ippei Mizuhara firing

The story smells. I’m not saying he bet on baseball or even that he bet himself, but there’s no way 4.5 million was wired out of his account without him or one of his financial people knowing about it and or okaying it. No way.

And there’s also no way a bookie is extending a 4.5 million line of credit unless he know it’s good.

If there are still any investigative journalists left, seems there’s a story of a lifetime to be had here. And I don’t know what the story is, but it’s not the one Othani and his camp are now selling.

Right for baseball? Did you not see how he basically destroyed free agency and the Angels this season?

I think he’s a piece of shite

So glad the Braves passed on this clown

C’mon, man. He played for the Angels until his contract ran out, won 2 MVPs while he was there, and then signed with a new team for as much money as he could. He may be a gambling degenerate, but he’s not a POS for the reasons you’re giving.
