Baylor fans what was the deal with Harvey Thomas and his cousin? I believe they had more to do with murders than what's been published

Not getting raped or shot is pretty high up there with academics...

That's true.

But in the Texas hierarchy Baylor is just "good" academically. Texas and aggy are academically superior and cheaper.

You pay twice the price and get half the education at Baylor

Some of the good Baptists (and there are some) need to force the hand of accountability on the school and its athletics department.

Not trying to turn this into a religion thread, but back in the 1980's it was in the middle of a fight between two branches of Baptists. The "good Baptists" decided that Baylor was too far gone (theologically) to be helped. So they could care less about it in any aspect.

The SBC had a lot to do with relegating Baylor to the "high church"/establishment sector, true. But I'm not necessarily speaking about the administration, which is likely still entrenched in its mostly too-far-gone status. The good Baptists are the alumni and the current parents of the students who, I believe, have the ability to drain the swamp if enough pressure is applied.

I always wish ill will toward Ole Piss and Texas.... but Baylor takes the cake. It's probably the 'holier than thou' aspect of it that pisses me off more, including anything that paints Waco in a positive light - including that HGTV show. The athletic department has gotten away with murder (literally too) and no severe penalties. Until that happens, I wish nothing but failure for that school and Waco area.

They said it was a Showtime production, so I'd guess there.

Well considering 2 of those 3 have been in trouble with the NCAA and the other should be, it's not surprising they have that opinion

Absolutely pathetic.

And just as pathetic Bliss has gone on to coach again while Rouse has basically been blackballed.

Baylor's good academically. They should nuclear option the football and basketball programs if they want to stay that way.

Why would you nuclear option the basketball program now? This happened almost 15 years ago. This makes no sense.

How would you define severe? we haven't received our football penalty yet. our basketball penalty was pretty severe. 7 scholarships for 2 seasons. ban from post season. ban from playing ooc games. Is this now not considered severe?

Considering what SMU got for paying players, yeah BU has gotten off light. The only reason Bliss wasn't made an example of while at SMU was because of the football program. I'm not saying death penalty but something needs to happen to that athletic department. It may have happened years ago but BU needs a lesson taught to them with the football penalty. That's TWO major scandals in the top two sports on campus.

Sexual Assault is certainly an issue at Baylor. But the football team has only ever had 1 player convicted of sexual assault.Albeit, that is 1 to many.

The school as a whole is the problem. They lacked the resources to handle sexual assault and when something came up, they made it go away.

Lol unless you're a dumbass or rich as hell, you're on a huge scholarship at Baylor if you're a student.

I was paying less at Baylor a year than if I had gone to Texas Tech.

Jesus. We aren't talking about buying a running back a Trans-Am or paying a lineman $180,000. WE'RE TALKING MURDER AND MULTIPLE RAPES AND COACHES COVERING THAT UP ALL THE WHILE CLOAKING THEMSELVES IN BAPTIST HOLY ROLLER bullshite.

"Severe"???? Baylor athletics should be blackballed from all NCAA competition.

frick loss of scholarships and post-season bans. That's what happens when you pay players or change grades. The Baylor Athletic Department is a criminal organization at this point.
