still can't handle the fact Cam outplayed Brady

I'll console myself with the knowledge that my team is actually a Super Bowl contender this year

Are the panthers really that significantly worse off at WR this year in comparison to last year?

I don't think the difference is that substantial.

Thompkins
Lafell
Edelman
Dobson

Not a strong group IMO, and they have 3 backs who will split carries...It comes down to Gronk. Healthy, I'd say yes. Not, I say no

of course, it's obvious that cutting your WR group that finished ranked 27th in the NFL last season is catastrophic and there's no way to replicate their tremendous output

Now that they all have experience, I'd say it's a decently strong group. Dobson really turned it on at the end of the year, Edelman was fantastic, and Thompkins hit the rookie wall. Amendola, if he can stay healthy (Pretty much impossible) is an all-pro.

That defense is going to be awesome though, and the run game was very, very good last year.

Anyone who has watched Carolina play should know that Cam Newton is not the problem.

So they rated 27th in pass offense just due to bad wr play????? Ok.......

So he must have been great in 2011 when he finished in the top 10 in passing yards and they had the #7 offense?

And their WR and Oline play definitely limited him

The Jets in 2008? Everyone thought Favre would turn them into a legit contender, they started off pretty good 8-3 iirc and then shat the bed.

edit: yes they made the afc championship the next two years somehow but they really had no chance of winning a superbowl those two years imo

Wait what?

You're saying the 2008 Jets - a team that didn't make the playoffs - represented the lone window they had at a championship, even though the next two teams were superior and went to the AFCCG? LOL WUT?

I hate the Jets and even I think this is egregiously stupid.

That 2010 team won 11 regular season games, beat Peyton Manning in Indy in the playoffs, and then beat a 14-2 Patriots team in Foxboro.

1 season.

Any teams with less than that ever? Maybe 12 games before someone got injured?

Being underdogs at home in a 2nd round playoff game does not qualify as a "championship window".
