Not being able to reel in bull headed weatbrook isn't an indictment on the coach. Russ is who he is.

Id say he's done well to date considering all things considered.

I agree with most of what you say.

But the MVP in NBA needs to be about results. With only 5 players on the court, a super star needs to win.

I'm not an LBJ guy, but in the spirit of the award, he should win the MVP. Take him off the team and they barely make the playoffs.

As great as Westbrook is playing, they ain't winning shite. AI was the original Westbrook. At least he got his team to the finals.

I agree unless they get better teammates... The players the Thunder have are average to below average. They need Westbrook and another star to carry them, if they don't get another star than this is as far as they will go, which is a testament of Westbrook

If you listen to the Zach Lowe podcast you will hear him say that he talked to many players who said they wouldn't want to play with him. The chance of them getting a true difference maker is low due to his style of play.

I don't care about other players, I care about his teammates and how he elevated the team.

I have no dog in this hunt and I think Westbrook is a ball hog who cant close out games

Harden def won the battle today

Reverse roles I don't think the Rockets would be as good or that the Thunder would be as high. In honestly I think if Westbrook was on the Rockets they would be a 5/6 seed and if Harden was on the Thunder they would be an 8th or missed the playoffs seed. Westbrook carried a band of misfits.

it took him winning with a poor team for people to give him even a little credit.

OKC has some good players. Westbrook doesn't get the best outta his teammates like harden. Takes way too many bad shots instead of passing to the open teammates. Something harden doesn't barely ever do.

Which players showed themselves? I'm curious because Adams didn't play at a level we expected, nor did anyone else read.

The point was that this board and fans in general aren't worth a shite at evaluating coaches. If they thought he was shite then, they were wrong. And people only giving him credit for being a good coach now that he overachieved w a poor team ALSO shows that the majority don't have a clue.

Russ is the point guard a good point guard gets his guys going no? Don't you think that maybe a little of these guys lack of perfomance can be tied to having to stand around watching Westbrook all game? If you don't than your Zach lowes,BBB, etc disagree w you.
