Quick question. How do you chip out of wet/muddy grass? Flubbed 3-4 chips today because the club just absolutely stopped when trying to hit these shots. Thought of taking a lower lofted club and running it, but the mud/thick rough would've stopped the ball from getting to the green.

By "picking" it. Put the ball a little forward in your stance and shift your weight to your front foot, and accelerate through it. You should just barely graze the mud, nothing more.

If your club is sticking into the ground and taking big divots, your swing is either too long or you are decelerating. You could also be coming in too steep.

I'm going to go with that as that seems to be the biggest thing my Pro has worked with me on iron shots.

Scrape the grass and feel like you're hitting a tiny cut shot (swing through the ball a little left of the target)

Played yesterday... Greens are is really nice shape and amost of the holes are dry/little soft. Some holes do have a lot of soft terrain still. Cart path only on Sunday, but most holes would've been okay to drive on

Played yesterday for the first time ina few weeks...literally had the shanks for the first 8 holes or so. itwas bad...I was shanking chip shots....at number 9 I hit a great drive and then driver was fine after that but the irons were pretty bad...did manage to shoot 43 on the back with a birdie on a par three with a double on 18...I need to practice badly

Played City Park in NOLA on sunday. It was wet but only one really bad green that looked like water sat on it for a while (Par 3 - #11). They were 90 degree but as usual the duffers out there drove where they wanted.

What a great day to play - little wind, lots of sun and even City Park was not all that crowded.

Won both my matches with a partner on Saturday, and lost my individual match on Sunday...6 birdies, 6 bogies, and a double there was something like 8 lead changes in the match.
