Does public opinion now force Jerry's hand?
Excellent reporting by them

He's a terrible human being, but lets see some sort of verifiability of the evidence before we rush to suspend him again. Heinous as those pictures look and the anger that boils inside of most human beings at the sight of them, proof is still the ultimate factor that should be considered.

quote:i'm not sure what more verifiability there can be? the reporting goes back to primary sources: the police officers' notes and interviews, the photos taken immediately as part of that investigation, witness statements from the adjoining apartment, the building security, two separate 911 calls, and the trial transcript as taken by Hardy's defense team since bench trials in that state are not normally recorded.
verifiability of the evidence
i don't think it changes anything legally I suppose, but it certainly makes more vivid what likely happened during the incident. I doubt he gets suspended, but Hardy it makes it much harder to call Greg Hardy a "leader" and have him as part of your team.

I just skimmed the article so maybe I missed it but this
seems like more than a minor inconsistency...
quote:
There are minor inconsistencies in Holder’s versions of events—in court, for instance, she added a part about Hardy ripping a necklace off of her and throwing it in the toilet, then slamming the toilet lid on her arm repeatedly when she tried to get the necklace, and left out the part where he takes out a cell phone—but the overall order of events stays pretty much the same. None of the inconsistencies in her tellings are nearly as significant as the discrepancies in the various versions of events that Hardy has given.

Maybe you should've bolded the last sentence instead...

Yeah I don't know if you can get better evidence unless it was caught on film

I wouldn't wish serious injury on any person, but if Hardy took a career ending injury on the field, I wouldn't feel bad for him

So he has went to court on this offense, the charges have been dropped. He has served his suspension plus. I am not sure what you are wanting other than to smear a person again and attempt to smear an organization.

People already knew he was a POS. Dont think these photos will do much of anything. Besides he's already been suspended for it.

Smear a person? Greg Hardy should never see the field again and much worse should happen.

I'm not arguing either way, I'm just applauding good reporting for getting these out there.

Why should he not see the field again if he has served a suspension and been cleared in a court of law?
I do not think he is a great or even a good person, but he has done his time.

He did no time whatsoever outside being suspended for a few games. He should be behind bars. Amazing what a little money can do.

I don't, and won't, trust Deadspin to get their sources correct. It is a Gawker site and Gawker has shown they have zero issue violating various ethics.

Why should he be behind bars if the charges were dropped?
And serving a suspension is doing the time.

Usually I would agree, but most of this is directly from the authorities.
