Massive amounts of cortisone injections. We're on the verge of being able to grow limbs. We can rebuild him. We can make him stronger. Suck it up, Walker....

That yawn stuck with me also...even if the kid knew he wouldn't play, was hungover, whatever...you'd think he'd still be amped up given the situation....

re: People without insurance who cause wrecks - magiLSU
Some insurance companies won't allow you to carry collision & uninsured property damage. An uninsured, habitual convict hit my brother earlier this year & he had to pay his collision deductible (Safeco) for the repairs. Medical bills were covered by the uninsured medical coverage. ...

re: Proof that the "horrible call" at 1st base was correct... - magiLSU
And you fellas may have to Microsoft paint some circles around the part of the shadows you think are conclusive. I just don't see it. Again, it may have been, but I have yet to see this definitive proof y'all seem to think absolutely exonerates the ump.
It's not difficult...I'm be...

A. The neighborhood / vicinity rule doesn't actually exist, and it in no way relates to plays at first anyway. 2. I totally believe that 90% figure you made up. III. Never in the history of baseball has an umpire said, "Ah, screw it, the first baseman realllly wanted and tried to touch the bag...
If he is that far off then you give the benefit of the doubt. Still a horrible call.
This makes zero sense....

re: This was called safe - magiLSU
You couldn't tell from the camera angles they showed.
Yes, you could, by the clear sunlight gap in the shadow between his foot and 1B. Look at the tRant thread with still pictures from one of the ESPN replays...it is clear....

re: This was called safe - magiLSU
basemans foot could be off of the ground and still on the bag, creating the same shadow.
No, because the shadow of his foot would then be at least partially on the RF side of the bag, not towards 2B. This isn't rocket science....
Except for the fact in the "last" one, chronologically it's the first one....And you can't see if he has the ball yet. No one doubts he touched the bag at some point, we are doubtful he stayed in contact when the throw pulled him off. Changed those pics around and you have proof positive ...
A gump on tSECR argued that the lack of shadow was from his foot being on the bag but off the ground. No use posting over there
Can't fix stupid....

Proof that the "horrible call" at 1st base was correct... - magiLSU
Not sure if this says more about my fanaticism as an LSU fan or my compulsion to be correct, but I noticed this quickly during the ESPN replays, and I don't see that anyone else has...enjoy. Thanks to the angle of the sun being almost directly down the 1B line, you can see a clear gap in the shad...

re: Worst calls (any sport) that have benefitted the Tigers? - magiLSU
his foot was clearly off the bag
Indeed, it was. On one of the last slo-mo replays, you can easily see a gap between his foot and the bag in their shadows. Ump made a damn good call....
