Says he's super excited about both, did not* tip his hand. MT asked about September call ups and he said the organization will take long looks about who belongs on the 40 man. Mentioned how the jump to mlb is the hardest no matter how much success one player has on other levels. Mentioned how many top 50 prospects struggle for a few years. Patted the organization's back on finding TW and scouting.

MT asked him again at the end if he could repeat his thoughts on white and reed so he could play it multiple times tonight on the 10th inning show for everyone who calls in. So tune in tonight if you want to know what he said. Basically a whole lot of nothing, but judge for yourself tonight.

we've got to get McCullers up before August 31st at midnight so he can be eligible

Hinch was interviewed on MLB Network today and said LMJ will be up in the next couple of series. So we are definitely seeing him soon & on a postseason roster

Edit: and you have to remember that many teams shorten their rotations to 4 starters during the postseason. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

Edit 2: If the rotation is shortened, they'll probably move the 5th starter to the BP along with Fiers. I am thinking one of the relievers doesn't make the postseason roster if that happens and Marisnick & Tucker are kept active. Who knows? Ton of combinations can be made.

I would think Keuchel Kazmir Jabroni McCullers will be the playoff rotation

Yeah there really wouldn't be a need for both Feldman and Fiers to be in the bullpen. Velasquez would be much more useful to pitch an inning out of the pen IMO

Dodgers are going with a 4-man rotation for the time being. Which means #Astros will face Zack Greinke Saturday & Clayton Kershaw Sunday

Welp so much for that home series streak

I don't think Carter makes the playoff roster. And as dumb as this sounds, I would prefer to start Marisnick and have Rasmus on the bench... that is, IF Gomez could some how find a way to start playing at his career average.

I haven't lost faith in Marisnick... dude will turn it around.

But honestly, I think all of this playoff talk is a bit premature. If the Astros are still in within 3 games of first place in 3 weeks, then I'll be willing to talk. But if they don't win the division, they won't see post season play.

Anyone have any information on Springer's rehab? I read that he's supposed to start swinging a real bat by the end of this week, is @MIN at the end of August a safe bet?
