How did you Houston fans survive 2009-2014?
Asking for a friend.
Aside from following the prospects like others said, taking pleasure in young guys or underrated/scrap heap guys that get called up and exceed expectations.
Keuchel for instance was viewed as back of the rotation guy and was pretty pedestrian in 2012/2013.
Watching him on 2014 when the Astros still sucked was awesome and now he's at the top of their rotation as contenders. Marwin Gonzalez is another example, viewed as a stopgap utility guy and now he's an extremely important part of this team. It's neat to see what guys get to do with an opportunity they might not have received elsewhere

I forgot about CSN Houston
That's when I stumbled upon unlocator.
What a disastrous time for the Houston Astros all the way around.

Luhnow on 790 this morning talking Devo, rest days, a little McHugh, and how the trade market may shape up this year. Basically hints that everyone wants Kyle Tucker and we have no desire to trade him.

Saw this in a Fangraphs chat today..
Answer:
I cant find the article detailing his batted ball profile, but thought it was interesting.

How did Alex Bregman lose his ability to hit more flyballs than groundballs?
Answer:

As Tony noted in his offseason write-up, Bregman’s 2016 batted ball profile was a mess, and suggested it wouldn’t work long term. Seems pretty likely the Astros saw that too and are helping him try to make adjustments that will work better over the long run.

He is coming around, .804 OPS during his 10 game hit streak. But yeah I'd be interested to know what about his batted ball profile was a mess last year.

Found it:

Then there’s Alex Bregman. His profile here, put bluntly, is a mess. He doesn’t impact his grounders, at all, and almost always pulls them. He hit .154 AVG-.179 SLG (44 Unadjusted Contact Score) on the ground, and was assessed an excessive-pulling penalty. His traditional 2016 numbers were propped up by an unsustainably high liner rate. His pop-up rate was high, and his fly-ball rate has nowhere to go but down. Bregman significantly outperformed his exit-speed and -angle data on fly balls (121 Unadjusted vs. 66 Adjusted Contact Score) and liners (142 vs. 104). His raw numbers suggest a ready-for-prime-time player; digging deeper calls that status into question. He looks like a power-before-hit guy who hasn’t developed much power just yet.

Is that josh Beckett on the pregame show?

I'm sorry, but for me that's paralysis by analysis.

True. I am sure Fangraphs wrote a ton about Yonder Alonso never having a chance to be a legit starting first baseman with the bat. Sure it took time, but talented hitters can make adjustments.

There is a lot there for sure, but it makes sense.
He got a lot of pitches he could drive last year, and that was essentially what drove his AVG/SLG.
Now it seems like he's stuck when to hit the ball in the air and when to hit it on the ground. Since he's hitting more balls on the ground (that he doesn't hit very hard) and getting less liners/Flyballs his AVG/SLG is down.

Lucky. Same old problems for him right away. Can't get strike three nearly enough.

Inciarte had absolutely no chance there

Also, this new in-market streaming is absolutely incredible.

Recovered well though. I'm president of the Joe Musgrove fan club if anyone wasn't aware.
