Fiers has no reason to fear at the moment. I'm thinking it's a lock that McHugh starts the season on the DL

Rotation to start 2017:
Kid
Lance
Morton
Musgrove
Fiers

Stassi cleared waivers and got outrighted to AAA. 40 man roster now has 38 players.

what's the deal with Moran? He hit well this spring and I remember at one point 3-4 years ago he was in contention for our #1 overall pick and we got him I remember in the kike deal. He seems like a nice bat to have on the bench pinch hitting late in games, certainly more valuable roster spot than marisnick. What is up with him and why didn't he make the roster? He did all he could this spring with a bat

Similar to Reed's situation. His defense is limited and he hasn't proven his bat enough to warrant a roster spot. If he starts in AAA and hits like he did this spring he could force his way up.

I admittedly haven't watched any spring training, I just saw the box scores, does moran flash any type of long term potential? I mean the guy was a top 5 pick right and many thought #1 overall pick type talent.

It all depends on if he can keep hitting. None of his other tools have stood out throughout his career, and the power that people thought would develop hasn't come yet. He was very disappointing in AAA last year and awful in the bigs. He and Reed are basically in a competition for who could possibly be the long term 1B if Yuli moves to full time DH next year or later.

Moran will never be much. Might as well forget him.

Did he need help finding his way around the bases?

Well fellas... After 43 years as an Astros fan, I am finally a Rangers Fan.

My 7 yr old son is playing Coach's Pitch and he got drafted by the Rangers.

As for Today's news that McHugh may not be ready, I've been saying that for almost two weeks. I think he has a bigger problem than 'dead-arm'.

I won't hold that against you. I'm coaching The Nationals tee ball team. Not a bad draw. My 4 year old loves it.

Yeah... We had the Red Sox for Tee Ball... I thought that sucked until he got drafted by the Rangers.

Our friend's kid got drafted by the Astros. I tried to set up a trade with my friend, his son for mine and a PTBNL... My wife wasn't amused. My daughter was even less amus d cause she knew she would be the throw-in.

Seriously though, I'll head to academy tomorrow and get myself a Rangers hat.

ETA: kudos to you for coaching. Especially with a newbie at home.

I love it because he genuinely loves baseball and he is advanced for a 4 Yo. He begs me every day to practice with him can't say no to that.

There at least half the kids on his team that can't throw a ball 3 feet or know which end of the bat to hold. Lol.
