Thank God it wasn't Justin Wilson's old cooking show.

Astros backups are a bunch of clowns in the field.

But at least Jose's throwing arm looks good.

Maybe he can loan it to Forrest.

Got to keep him on his toes. Community leadership is a burden.

After a global pandemic and a shortened season, we've all got to get back into shape for a full season of quality Datting.

MLB pipeline updated their prospects lists. Our #1 prospect is Whitley and our #2 prospect is Pedro Leon...that guy who hasn't played a single inning in the minors yet.
So things are going well. Between the luxury tax implications and our dried up farm system, there's not much leverage to do much at the trade deadline.

Here's a look at the Astros' top prospects:
1. Forrest Whitley, RHP (MLB No. 41)
2. Pedro Leon, OF
3. Hunter Brown, RHP
4. Jeremy Pena, SS/2B
5. Korey Lee, C

Anyone remember Geronimo Pena from the Cardinals of the early 90s? Before my time as a baseball fan but I've heard the name. He's Jeremy Penas dad.

Ehh, there's some quality in the system. Sure, we don't seem to have a clear-cut guy who we can dangle out there if needed but that doesn't mean we don't have guys some other team might covet.
I still don't know if we have enough starting pitching for the season right now. Frambaw needs to come back by mid-season. Garcia must be useful. We need a surprise like maybe Abreu, Solomon or Emanuel to step up and fill some gaps.
Just need to get to the playoffs with a healthy lineup and a reliable rotation that includes Frambaw.

Not yet but dumbass should be rushing to get TJ so he can miss as little time as possible.
Of course, that means he'll self-diagnose (and self-medicate, naturally) and try to heal himself with mineral spirits or some shite.

Tyler Ivey, Shawn Dubin and Brett Conine are some SP to keep an eye on this year as far as potential starting depth. Not top prospects but effective minor league starters nearing graduation.
I guess in the shorter term its
Garcia
Bielak
Abreu
Pruitt
...James? Dare I say it?
Send JJ to the minors and condition him as a starter?

Can't see James coming back late and being anything other than a reliever.
True on those other names. Maybe contract year Lance is durable Lance. That would help a ton. I think Urquidy is ready to roll.
Maybe these are famous last words but I think the bullpen is going to be pretty good.

Assuming it stays healthy, that's a crowded pen for James to make his way back into. Current need is for depth at starter. That's why I can see him being sent down to get stretched out. But you're right his highest remaining MLB potential is likely at reliever. Just cross your fingers and hope he can command his shite for 3 outs.
