Straw is a spring training machine. His start to last spring had me thinking he could be a decent player.

Then we saw him in the regular season and he was dogshit.

Looks like Bielak had a much better outing this time around. 3 scoreless frames

Straw could be a decent player.

I just don't trust him to be our starting CF right now.

Heyman says we have internet in Odorizzi. Not surprising but the money would be tight as far as tax threshold.

Whitley with a sore arm apparently. MORE good news.

Let’s just call him Mark Appel Jr. and chalk it up to a sunk cost. Guy is a bust.

@MarkBermanFox26
Dusty Baker on Forrest Whitley: “He’s ailing a bit. He threw the other day in a simulated game and he came up a little sore. We’re analyzing him now, trying to figure out how to get him back out there or if he needs to rest...I know it’s in his arm. I just don’t know where.”

More like Dolly Parton Jr

To think what we could have gotten for Whitley by using him in a trade. Guy had red flags all over the place. Control issues, suspension for illegal substance use, insisting on using his own training regimen, and now injured. Guy is the definition of BUST!

Right-hander Jake Odorizzi and the Houston Astros are in agreement on a two-year deal with a player option, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN. The last big free agent is off the board.

He looks like a jackass with that long hair, it would be one thing if he was throwing gas but inexcusable to grow a flow and still be a bust.

A new catcher
Stroman as a pitcher
A new 1B

So many options

I know this Odorizzi signing likely hamstrings us at the deadline, but a necessity at this point in time to add a legitimate big league arm to the rotation with the uncertainty surrounding Framber.

Odorizzi moves makes way too much sense with uncertainty with Framber.

Per Fangraphs, Astros currently at $200.7M in luxury-tax payroll, within $10M of threshold.
