That was a gross overreaction by the Cardinals fanbase, but I'm a Cubs fan and I think Castro doesn't have the kind of track record to be watching HR's and slow trotting around the bases like he's Barry Bonds or something.

Maybe murder more baseballs, Starlin.

I'm one of those meathead baseball fans that doesn't like showboating. I'm also one of those baseball fans that likes what a player like Yasiel Puig brings to baseball. I'm a giant hypocrite.

That's not meatball...it's a preference.

More old man yelling at cloud stuff.

Honestly I used to care...but then seeing how big of douche bags as kirk gibson and brian mccann are I realized I needed a change.

I still wish every team upon winning even a lousy may baseball game would go jump in the dbacks pool.

Crab walk it starlin. Assuming you hit another one.

Looked like a normal trot to me.

No, it didn't look like a normal trot at all. I just mentioned to my wife while it was happening live that he was moving at a glacial pace. I didn't realize it would turn into this retarded shite show.

I am a huge Cubs fan and a fan of Starlin Castro and I can admit his trot was ridiculously slow. I can also admit I couldn't give two shits about how slow he, or anyone else, trots around the bases. If someone wants to hit him tonight, great, it is a free base runner.

Marlins should get even by hitting tons of grounders at Castro. He'll miss 1 out of every 5.

It always makes me laugh when Cardinal fans whine over people untucking their jerseys, watching homers, etc.

NO ONE watched his homers like Albert. He would literally stand there for 5 seconds, then go into a slow run.

Albert took pictures as he watched them leave.

it's making our home run trots slower.

I understand this is a shite slinging contest between cubs and cards fans now, but you've gotta admit the reaction from the cardinals fans was laughable...especially considering it happened in a game their team wasn't even involved in.

Of those tweets, only one seems to actually be a Cardinals fan. One tweets at a Cardinals fan to get a first baseman, so it's hard to tell if he's a Cards fan or not, but regardless makes no mention of the trot. Otherwise, it's one twitter account with the moniker "Baseball's Best Fans" retweeting a bunch of idiocy.

In no way shape or form is this "Cardinals fans crying over Castro's HR trot." This appears to me to be an attempt to denigrate a fanbase without justification.

At least, this is not justification. You can denigrate the Cardinals' fanbase for other instances, I'm sure. Of course, none of them would care.

The only thing I don't like about the home run trot is that it means Rizzo will get plunked today. He has already taken too many HBP.

Well he needs to learn how to not lean into the plate, they had an article on ESPN about HIBP and Rizzo and how he stands so far inside.
