Not only that, but two of the tree road trips are to Milwaukee and back home to Chicago to play the White Sox...and that trip is lumped together. There is a lone three game series in Oakland mashed between a home series against Miami and Los Angeles.

The Cubs limped into the All Star Break with their starting pitchers allowing 46 ER in 47 IP. That's really godawful and uncharacteristic. That trend should not hold.

On Friday, the Cubs start a home series with the Texas Rangers and Kyle Hendricks, Jason Hammel and John Lackey will be the starters. Dexter Fowler, Jorge Soler and Clayton Richard should be really close to returning to the team to help the offense and bullpen, respectively.

Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant have both been really stroking the ball lately, so that will definitely help.

Watch Kris Bryant smoke the second deck facade at Petco Park during the ASG.

I am pumped about the second half. That is a long stretch to be at (or close to) Wrigley. Very interested to see who they get/send off at the trade deadline

The Cubs should easily take the upcoming series with the Rangers.

The Rangers have never had great pitching, but this year may be the worst yet.

It's almost like the past three seasons they have been the unluckiest team in baseball when it comes to pitching injuries. Oh wait, they have been. Three of their top 5 starters are on the DL FFS. While the Cubs starting pitching is better far and away, don't act like the Rangers rotation when healthy isn't more than capable.

I"m headed back to Wrigley for the third straight year, this time in late August. But, it's the Pirates again, whom I saw last year. It's okay, should be a great series. And it'll be my first night game at Wrigley.

I'll be in Houston for the Cubs/Astros on September 10, too.

Let's just hope that this horrific slide we are currently on was fatigue from playing 26 straight and not mental

It was injury-driven as well, in my opinion.

Yeah, losing dex was big, I didn't really care thinking zobrist could pick up the slack in lead off but now our outfield is so thin and zoby belongs elsewhere in the lineup our offense tailed off as pitching did. Recipe for disaster

Holland is at best a long reliever.

Hamels has a poor record against AL teams--what you've seen in the last two games (allowed ten runs in 8 2/3 innings) is closer to his trend against AL teams than what somehow got him on the AL All-Star team.

And Darvish is the best example of why teams should NOT sign Japanese pitchers to long-term deals--after 2-3 years they break down physically (no sooner does he come back from TJ surgery than he goes back on the DL).

Nice. Have white sox and mariners, one day game one night game. First trip to Chicago, can't wait.

Anybody have suggestions on what sections are preferable for day games? I will be hungover as frick. tia

Have you heard of any good rumors lately? It's still a little early though.

Nothing new. I fully expect them to make a run at Andrew Miller. He is not a FA until 2019. No idea what it would take to get him though.
