Shorthorns... Anyway my picks would be Cox, Brockers, Poe, or trade down and get Glenn, Hightower, or a CB.

As I posted a few days back, my choices would be:

DeCastro
Ingram
Cox

If DeCastro is still there, I would already consider this draft a win for us.

I'm here to flame the cowboy fans in the nicest way possible. I hope you don't get Barron and JJ takes a shot on JJ in the late rounds.

I was told, "Brockers is a great kid, but he does not fit our system." He did mention that when they were watching film of Brockers that SM jumped off the screen to them.

That's borderline cruel. The Cowboys fans have already suffered enough from another dual threat SEC QB with accuracy issues in Quincy Carter.

I love Brockers but I think he will be far better in a 4-3. Put him in Philly or with the Giants and he would dominate.

Not so sure about him in a 3-4.

Him in the 3-4 = Richard Seymour 2.0

Is it difficult for anyone else to listen to Jerry talk? Accidentally caught their waste of a press conference on lunch and I don't think any of Jerry's answers made any sense.

Oh how I miss the days of Jimmy Johnson just taking over the draft each year

Schefter saying Barron will not be there:
quote:

Alabama safety Mark Barron’s usual mock-draft landing spot is with the Cowboys at the No. 14 overall pick. But he won’t last that long, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.Schefter reported on ESPN’s SportsCenter draft special Wednesday that Barron will be drafted in the top-13 selections. “He will not make it to No. 14,” Schefter said. “Mark Barron will not reach the Cowboys’ turn.”

Yeah Baby! Stops us from making a fairly big mistake IMO.

Cowboys need a saftey bad, but I think Barron is overated. I love Brockers but don't think he is a good fit for cowboys.

I would be happy with DeCastro, but Jerry will prolly draft another damn OLB!!

I would love to wait on an OLB, let Spencer play out his year and make a run at Mingo next year

I agree.

This year OL,DL or S with our 1st 2 picks.

Like to get a durable HB in one of the mid rounds.

Like most in this thread, I want talent in the trenches. Nothing against Barron, per se, but i think his stock is being elevated by a dearth of safety talent this year. He's the pick of a weak litter.

I'd love DeCastro... and Cox will be long gone, but if he or Ingram are there, you gotta jump, imo...

Did you see the ESPN drat show with Bill Parcells last night? He gave a discourse on why he would build his team with 3 corners and one safety type to counter the typical three wide receiver sets most offenses are using on first down. He was pointing out that he'd like a corner with good tackling skills, or a safety with great cover skills over a traditional safety type. My thinking is that Mark Barron is the quintessential safety with limited coverage skills. He would be a definite liability against a three wide receiver formation.

More I think about this I rather have Still, Worthy, and then DeCastro. I think DL is more of a need than a Guard. I'm hoping they can find a S through releases or whatever. As for Felix, he may need to be traded for a 4th or 5th rd and go get another OL in that pick.

This could either be a blessing or curse:

quote:

evertheless, we'll pass along an interesting report from Tony Pauline of TFY Draft Insider. Namely, that he hears multiple teams have Alabama S Mark Barron rated as the No. 6 player overall in this year's class. So what does this mean? Much as the rumor yesterday concerning the Buffalo Bills' possibly taking Barron at No. 10 served as a flashing sign to teams like Dallas and Philadelphia that they need to trade up with Buffalo to get him, this is an additional sign, potentially leaked from one of the teams near the top of the draft, that their picks are up for auction. (And we can add the New York Jets as a potential trader, given their perceived strong interest in Barron).

The Jacksonville Jaguars, in particular, would certainly like a strong market to develop for their pick, as they have been cited frequently as a team looking to trade out of the No. 7 pick. Increased interest in Barron would help this cause.

Jerry for whatever reason seems fixated on Barron and I could see him trying to move up for him. The only player I would reasonably trade up to get is Cox, but I think the Eagles will beat other teams to the punch for that
