Could New Orleans support an AHL team?

Could New Orleans support an AHL team? I started casually watching hockey during the NHL playoffs last year watching those electric atmospheres in Nashville. Then I started watching the Vegas Golden Knights after their historic start this year.
Is the quality play good in the AHL? Are the ticket prices cheaper than NHL? Are NBA arenas too big for the AHL?

I’ve been to a few Texas Star games, they were fun. Cheap tickets and beer.

The top line players are pretty good. They're either young guys waiting to make the NHL or skilled vets who usually head over to Europe at some point for a payday. The bottom line guys are pretty bad.

Here's the AHL attendance numbers btw.

Each situation is unique. San Diego has great attendance. Albany, NY is dead last.

Mudbugs are awesome, glad they were able to come back.
I think with New Orleans it would take the right marketing and price point to make it work. New Orleans Arena may not be willing to give up the dates for hockey as they have a pretty packed schedule.
Finding the right arena might be the biggest problem. Not sure if Lakefront is set up to have ice or not.

Based on those numbers we could definitely support. I would go

I miss the days of the River Rats team. Used to have one of the jerseys. Any numbers on how they're doing switching to Binghamton, with Ottawa's team in Belleville?

I’m 45 minutes from New Orleans.
I and thousands of others don’t know what “AHL” is.
So I’m gonna say.... no.

Binghamton is averaging 4897 spectators.

It's the second highest league in North America.

You're seriously asking if NOLA would support a hockey team?

I mean if they put 4K asses in the seats they're good. I don't know their arena situation though.

The Blender don't want to deal with converting ice if it ain't NHL...
And since we're never gonna get that...
