so was it a case of the judges preferring bigger punches over jabs?

I guess I should just watch the whole fight when it re-airs on HBO. I did have CU/WSU on the TV and the feed I had wasnt all that so its not like I was really paying close attention.

I think it was more that they saw Canelo taking charge of the fight. I thought he won it but not by that wide a margin.

thanks much

I actually do like Canelo more than Cotto and am happy he got the win. I was just a little surprised by how one sided the scorecards were.

The mexican ginger controlled the fight from start to finish. He had a distinct size advantage. There is no way anybody watched that and thought that Cotto won that fight.

gee, might that be b/c undefeated champ and overwhelming favorite got her arse KTFO after getting whipped for a round and half?

Does that change the fact that a woman's UFC fight will end up talked about 100x more than the best fight mens boxing had to offer right now?

Not only did Canelo land the more effective punches but he also landed more punches overall.

Those scorecards were filled out Friday night. No surprise there. 11-1 and 10-2?

Bring on Canelo/GGG!

De La Hoya will NEVER agree to that until GGG turns 45.

If the judges scored this fight like they score a pussy mayweather fight, it's a MUCH closer fight and maybe a different outcome. Cotto's defense was very good.

Plus, what's with this damn 155# limit stipulation on a possible GGG fight? It's for the middleweight belt and the limit on that is 160. IMO, the sanctioning bodies shouldn't let them do this.

Agreed....just pisses me off that the record books will show that Canelo blew him out on the cards when in fact it was a really good, close fight.

I guess Canelo-GGG will be the new Floyd-Pac....the fight that boxing fans want but won't get due to promotional politics.
