Because he's not going to celebrate a country that oppresses black peoplr

quote:
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game against Green Bay. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

This stance will make me appreciate his demise even further. Guy sucks

He needs to take a harder stance and protest the NFL because they play the national anthem.
Then we would never have to hear from this low life POS ever again.

Is he talking about that ridiculous 6 year $114,000,000 contract he signed?

Oakland is pretty bad. Guess he's seen the destructive black culture first hand.

Dude needs to worry about staying in the league/trying to be a starter rather than spout some stupid fricking bull shite like this.

Then move to another country, bitch

Poor Colin. So oppressed he signed a $114,000,000 contract. Glad I'm white and privileged and don't have to deal with that shite.

Lol. Opression? The president is black...

He deserves whatever ire he receives (including sponsorship losses) for this move. I'm certainly not a fan. That all said, I'm still glad I live in a country where he can express that opinion and where people in opposition can express their disdain for his shitty opinion.
It's unfortunate though that someone in his position won't take it a step further and say, "Hey, I don't agree with how my community is treated BUT there are things WE can do to make this a better place for our kids without outside help".

Just imagine what he'd say if the President was a white Republican.

Dude was raised by a white couple in suburban Wisconsin. It's not like he grew up in South Chicago
