Soler is supposed to join tomorrow I think. I'm not sure if there has been a roster move yet either.

Was always going to be tomorrow.

Feels like someone on here should have predicted this call up for soler. On the road, check, hitters friendly park, check, struggling pitching staff, check. We dumb fellas.

Happy Jorge Soler day, everybody! Not much of note happened in the Cubs system last night...probably because half the boners are at the MLB level right now.

Not sure what jersey number Soler will wear. He's worn #25 at Iowa and that number is available in Chicago. But, we'll see later today.

This is it. It's happening.

Yikes...4 K yesterday.

We keep forgetting Rizzo and Castro when we fawn over the throngs of prospects in the system. But they are turning themselves into perennial all stars this year. Both are having breakout years and it can't be glossed over as something that sorely needed to happen this year in order for the Cubs to be confident about contending in 2015 and onward. That piece had to fall in place, and so far it has.

Jorge Soler Day is also overshadowing Jacob Turner making his 1st start for the boys in blue.

5.JORGE SOLER, RF
6.Welington Castillo, C

Rizzo getting the day off, probably because of the back tightness from last night.

Can't wait to see:

2. Baez 2B
3. Rizzo 1B
4. Castro SS
5. Soler RF

The Cubs record minus Edwin Jackson appearances is 51-54.

I used to follow the Cubs pretty consistently, but haven't paid attention to baseball in almost 10 years.

Is Theo finally putting something together? Is there a faint light at the end of the tunnel?

they have 3 of the top 10 hitting prospects in all of baseball. Kris Bryant, Javy Baez, and Addison Russell.

5 in the top 50 (jorge soler & albert almora)

Javier Baez is already up, as is Jorge Soler as of today.

SS ADdison Russell was obtained from OAK in the Smardjza trade.

What about without Wood too. He's been pretty terrible. I expect that arrietta and the others probably have a pretty stellar ERA too.
