He just wants to have a permanent place close to friends and family.

True, Dallas doesn't hold a candle to NYC but maybe he can scratch enough together to visit the big apple one day.

I heard that you can rent condos in New York.

Probably a lie, though.

Ever think he might hate living in NYC?

The basketball court was an after thought apparently.

yeah golfers need to live where golf is plentiful and abundant. that's not chicago or new york

how many cities do you have to go through before Dallas becomes a great option for being a young, rich person? maybe 7-8

scratch NYC and Chicago off the list and that goes to 5-6

I'd live in San Diego or Austin if I were that age and an uber-wealthy pro golfer, at least for a few years.

But yea, easy access to a top-of-the-line facility is critical to these guys.

I know Justin Thomas still lives either with or near his family in Prospect, KY, but I suspect he'll be moving soon.

Random question, Spieth bought a multi-million dollar house in Preston Hollow like last year. Is this an additional one, or did he sell the other one and upgrade?

ETA: Link for first house in Dallas

He is doing it way wrong IMHO. I would have a badass condo in New York, Chicago, Miami etc etc instead of a suburban mansion. What fun is that at 22?

if you think he isn't having fun. The guy travels probably 50-75% of the year for golf. I'd want a nice home base near my family and friends. Also he's now legit famous, it's not like he can just go winder into random bars all the time. Trust me, he's having plenty of fun.

He's been playing pretty awful, no idea how he afforded that house to begin with. Probably couldn't afford it anymore.

Dallas would be much better than NYC or LA for a golfer, and if he's not liberal, then that too.
