The Cubs (25-7) take on the Padres (14-20) in Game 2 of the day/night doubleheader. Padres took this afternoon's game 7-4, snapping the Cubs 8-game winning streak. John Lackey (4-1, 4.02) will oppose Drew Pomeranz (3-3, 2.12). Go Cubs Go.

I hope Soler Power can get some momentum going today.

Yours truly will be there tonight, seven rows behind the Cubbies dugout. When a right hander is up, look for the strapping, chiseled, mid/late 30s fella with the Cubs hat. That most likely won't be me.

Back on Saturday (though with my, much worse, regular tickets).

Addison Russell's approach has been so good lately. And Bryant has cut down on his K's and is making great contact. Rizzo smashes everything. Heyward hits line drives all over the place. This team is just so fun to watch.

Ben Zobrist had to be hit with a fire extinguisher in the clubhouse yesterday.

It's only a matter of time. He was our hottest hitter post season last year. Weather starts warming, he'll start warming. He's too talented and that bat speed to good not to.

You should wear a bright orange jacket like the guy in the bleachers last night.

I'll be bringing my [ W ] at a minimum.

Will brainstorm something else I can bring, and will record the game just in case.
