MSU is light years ahead of ND this year . They have 7 ret starters on both sides of the Ball.....

But this coud be the year an SEC team gets left out of the playoffs....

Ohio St. is loaded and if they lose it will be their own fault.

TCU /Baylor WILL get in

Oregon will win the pac-12 again

And a 1 loss Mich.St. team [to OSU] they will get in over a two loss SEC champ... Nobody in the SEC gets by with less than two losses this year... The SEC is way down from past years......

How does Baylor adapt without Bryce Petty?

Also, don't you feel like TCU & Baylor will slip a game to traditional teams they've previously been beating like a Oklahoma or Texas game?

Yeah, I doubt they go undefeated. What they did last year was awesome and will be very hard to reproduce.

How do you feel about Golson being at FSU now? I was at the ND FSU game last year, wow. I'm hoping Jimbo doesn't work his magic with him. Golson's bad is really, really bad. 10 turnovers in the 4 games leading to that game. But his good is elite.

When he is on, he is something else. He'll go whole quarters or halves or games looking like a superstar.

Then it will all fall apart.

He's a very talented guy. I don't think he's a great leader, and it showed at times. Maybe Jimbo will get more out of him than Kelly did on that front. He's an intelligent guy and won't have any problems absorbing a playbook or reading defenses...it's more of an issue of getting out of his own head when things start to turn against him.

The kid we have in there now is pretty talented, though not nearly as polished of a passer as Golson is. But he's a much, much better leader.

It sounds like your OL will take you far. Hegarty looked good against LSU and we are happy to have him.

Yep...has us as the Pac 12 winners. Hopefully a blind squirrel gets the nut in this case...

We're screwed.

I believe Riley is a good coach that needed change. I also am interested to see how he does now that he can get notch better at OL. It was near impossible to recruit that spot in Corvallis.

I'll chip in a UGA perspective. Dawgs are the most talented team in the SECE by two miles. I think the QB situation will cost this team a game they should win on sheer talent alone (see: UF 2014). I think the annual Richt brain cramp will cost this team another game they should win (see: S Carolina 2014). I also think there will be days where this team looks like they can kick the shite out of any other team in the nation (Missouri, Clemson, Auburn 2014).

Ultimately, I think this will be yet another disappointing 9-3 season. No other team has a gap between their best football and their worst football quite like Georgia. We will see both ends of the spectrum. The best will be jaw droppingly good. The worst will be downright painful to watch.

To answer the OP, Georgia could absolutely win the title if they bring their best football for every big game. That would be breaking a Richt trend though.

From a neutral perspective, I actually thought your bowl game against UL was the best game you played all year.

That was a pretty damn good team - albeit weak at QB - with a lot of talent (10 draft picks this year and probably 6 - 8 more next year) that you just dismantled. That Louisville team had played everyone tough all year.

Your offense looked unstoppable in that game.

You're probably right, even though I would say the Missouri game was the best. I was amazed that UGA didn't fold like a cheap suit after the Gurley announcement.

I will just reply to the last comment because there'd be several I'd reply to.

It's natural to root against your most hated rival while also rooting for your conference in general. If Arkansas ever wins the SEC I wouldn't want it to be in a year where the SEC was playing like the Sunbelt.

As for my 3 rooting interests:

1) GT has the QB so it should be fun, don't know how they'll end up, think the home and away split is tougher this year. QB and most of the O-line is what matters on offense, the RBs can be trained, key is the blocking for them and the WRs.

2) Arkansas QB is a decent game manager, had a 4/1 TD/int ratio last year. Mostly he just has to keep the D honest. Their D lost their 3 key guys, will be interesting to see how far along they are to reloading instead of rebuilding.

3) Minnesota's coaching staff is really good. They are limited because it is Minnesota but I could see them being one of those "the Big 10 is better, look at Minnesota" examples. I don't see them competing with OSU any time soon and probably a couple others but they could be upper middle tier for a while, 3rd or 4th best in the conference, which if the conference gets better would be pretty good.
