Yip, did anyone in the world think TCU and Baylor were going to be title contenders?

Two teams I like are Arizona and Georgia Tech. Now I doubt either will make the playoff, but it's possible.

That team had a great defense. If this year's defense stays in the top 3 all year in both scoring defense and total defense like that one then, of course. But I think teams started figuring Van Gorder around the UNC game, and it snow-balled with the injuries.

Golson was a very good passer even as a redshirt freshman - he at least forced teams to play the whole field. Last we saw Zaire had some work to do there. I also worry about him getting hurt given how much he runs.

This is probably the most talented ND team top-to-bottom since 1993, but QB play is everything.

I also think the schedule is going to be sneaky tough. The opening seven weeks are probably the toughest in the country for anybody.

Eh, they lose some pretty key guys. Cook returns, but I think only 2 OL are coming back.

GT loses a TON. Smelter is gone and 5 of their top 6 RBs(triple option) are gone. And their front 7 takes a bit of a hit too. I liked em too but the more I look at em I don't see them making noise. Think the ACC is gonna be a shite show. Really, really bad conference this year IMO.

LSU has a lot of talent on defense... but what about the QB?

Out of 123 qualified D1 quarterbacks...

Completion %:
121 Anthony Jennings, QB - 48.9%

Rating:
96 Anthony Jennings, QB - 118.3

Harris still hasn't beaten THAT ^ out... So I think it is safe to say LSU has no shot.

you think this year will be any different than last? Most people here were convinced that the SEC West was God's gift to college football.

well, playing each other, they had their moments but during bowl season they were a joke.

What the hell LSU. When I talk to my FSU fan buddies they think I'm crazy. I always talk highly of LSU and they just laugh and point out the QB situation. How can LSU be so fricked at that position so often?

I have no idea if the SEC will be any better than they were last year. But people getting off to the SEC's bowl season last year is hilarious, and a fricking joke. The SEC dominating for the past 12 years has driven people absolutely insane.

Eh, honestly I didn't look too much into them, I figured that they probably have their best quarterback running the system ever. I didn't realize they lose so much. The ACC will be garbage this year, so it's possible. I don't think GT losing running backs is an issue at all though because they didn't have any unique talents. It's a plug and play thing. They have Broderick Snoddy, who is fast as shite and averaged over 10 yards a carry.

What do the down votes for my opening thread mean? The context of thread sucks or what?

you aren't a SEC homer are you? That would be pathetic.

I don't know what happened to people man.

it seemed like it started after the turn of the century or something.

what happened to rooting hardcore against your rivals no matter who they played?

Were they not stacked last year? That team would get butt fricked out of the playoff every year till the earth explodes. They not only have to tighten the frick up, but they have to replace some VERY key players. I'm not counting them out, but IMO, it would be a remarkable season for them to get back to where they have been.

No, I'm not a homer. Although I try to be fair with the conference and there are endless facts and examples that fans of other conferences freak out about.

Whatcha mean? I hope Tennessee loses every game they ever play. I never root for Auburn but I have a soft spot somewhere in my heart because a fourth of my family are Auburn fans.

Are you referring to "SEC pride?" I have some SEC pride. The West is usually BRUTAL and the winner of it gets respect from the other members. Take FSU...do they respect any other members of that conference? Winning that division is about as cool as aids. You lose to any of those teams and you wanna stab yourself in the face.

gotcha.

see, I'm pretty sure no one could have seen them falling apart in the bowl season outside of the Hogs who drew a weak arse Texas team.

i know each season is different but it surprised me too, although once OSU beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl i was convinced that they would win it all. All of buddies/family thought i was nuts. They said Oregon would win in a cakewalk.

I just don't always side with the perceived "stone cold lock" is all.

Last year definitely have me pause. And going into this year, I don't have very high expectations for many SEC teams. Last year's bowl season surprised the shite out of me, it really did.
