out there today. Sure the Superdome has hosted a shite ton of Super Bowls, NCAA Final 4's, and the Sugar Bowl but in the grand scheme of things it's probably a middle of the road facility compared to whats out there today. It's not in the top 1/3 of NFL facilities even after the upgrades after Katrina. I am by no means saying it is terrible, quite the opposite. All i'm saying is it is not the world class facility that people make it out to be now. The city of NO is a world class place to have Super Bowls and Final Four's but they need a new facility to keep up the rotation of holding huge sports events. Cities are building world class facilities left and right and pretty soon N.O. will be left in the dust with an aging facility.

The whole point is it isn't about the fricking stadium. You are there for like 3 hours. Big fricking deal. It is the pre event and post even activities that make the experience.

Well, shite, that has more to do with whether you prefer the offerings of NO or North Texas and the particular event that you're there for.

I'm just talking about either venue straight up.

And for the record, I don't really have a dog in the fight. I'm from south Texas

That was the only assertion I was trying to make.

Again, I don't hate the Superdome at all.

And one of the most historic.

330 millin dollars worth of renovations and quality of it disagrees with you. It's practically brand new and still has a long life ahead of it.

I do not think the Superdome is the end all be all like some do. It is not awful either. To me I like AT&T Stadium and Arrowhead over the Dome. I would though put it ahead of the Georgia Dome, TWA/Edwards/Schnucks/Budweiser/Whatever they want to call it this year and the AlamoDome.

To me the three best (football) stadiums in America are:
Rose Bowl-Just the History
AT&T-obvious reasons
The New SF stadium just going off what has been reported.

It's not the absolute worst but also not close to the best. Hell my high school locker room is nicer than the visitors locker room
Great city for an event, wish the stadium matched that

I just love Fiesta and the blend of Tex-Mex-German cultures down there, tbh. Unique town, as is NO.

Just more familiar with SA's because that's home, you know?

Nah I don't care about all that. No city's perfect, but when it comes to NO and SA, there are too many redeeming qualities to be a straight hater, IMO

The location of the stadium in relation to other amenities, hotels, and attractions pretty much can't be topped.

No other city is knocking down hundreds of millions/billions of dollars worth of real estate in the heart of their downtown for a new stadium.

The only way a new facility in NOLA will top the dome is if the saints temporarily relocate while a new dome is being built where the current dome stands. They could built the best sports venue the world has ever seen, but if it's not on poydras it ain't gonna top the dome.
