Yeah, because when I see LeBron in the playoffs carrying a team by himself, like last year's finals, I think "that's a dude with no heart".

Most people in the world just aren't wired that way, to crush everyone in their path. Why do people ask of athletes what they don't ask of themselves? Are you crushing everyone in your way in your profession?

He would rather team up with his buddies and make a super team then kick their arse and make his case for GOAT. He just doesn't have the heart for it.

I love how players like Kareem get adulated. Kareem didnt win shite till the Bucks went out and got 10 time all star and top 10 alltime great Oscar Robertson. Then upon OR retiring, immediately went to last place. THEN left to go to the Lakers. This shite ain't new.

The nets will probably offer 8 years worth of unprotected 1sts to acquire this team in 3 or 4 years.

There isn't a documentarian alive who could cut the raw material from that team down to a 2 hour 30 for 30 special.

I doubt Boom has "Chosen 1" tattooed across his back.

I think Lebron's done pretty well for himself.
People just like to start splitting hairs over ring count.

He forgot James Jones.

Yea (for the first time ever) I think I'm going to have a agree with Boom on this one.
He has "Chosen 1" tattooed on his back, nicknamed himself "King James", and has said several times that he wants to be considered the greatest of all time.
That's the high standard people hold him to. A standard he put on himself. Seems fair to me.

Didn't his mom give him that nickname?

Possiby. I'm not sure. Wouldn't change the direction of my post though.
LeBron has never been shy about letting you that's he's the best player in the world.

Well he's come much closer to being the GOAT than he has to being a "disappointment" as boom called him. It's pretty damn hard to be the best at anything, even if you say you want it.

I agree and won't try to dispute this post whatsoever. He's top 10, top 5 top 3 all time depending who you ask. That's amazing.
But my point is that I think if LeBron truly wants to become the GOAT without question, teaming up with other guys again would probably be counter-productive for him.

Well for like 8 years or so, he's been the best in the world. No reason for complaints there.

I have no complaints with that either.

People define greatness differently apparently. If we're talking about statistical production on the court, he's on a short list but he's probably not catching MJ unless he has a resurgence in the next year or so. But he's top 3. That's certainly "Chosen One" tattoo worthy.
If it's about ring count then he probably never had a shot in hell the minute Cleveland earned the #1 overall pick in the 2003 draft. Winning championships is a organizational feat and Cleveland never had the front office competency of the Lakers, Celtics, SAS, Bulls, or even the Miami Heat. I tend to de-emphasize ring count because that's something that's not entirely up to the player in question.

Now it's he never had a chance because Cleveland drafted him.
Let's count the banners the Spurs and Bulls had before getting their greats.
The Bulls weren't really considered a great front office and the Spurs were seen as a middle of the road franchise.
The Cavs had a nice run in the late 80s/early 90s so they weren't completely incompetent.
Gilbert's Cavs have certainly had missteps, but catering to James has always been their best play.
I can't wait for the next excuse James fans will give him.
